This is nothing ...

You should see the amounts that feds give for food stamps. It is feeding the obesity epidemic big time.

First hand experience that my son had, has stamps for 2 adults and 4 kids, that will easily feed 20 adults most times.

That receipt lists three types of payment, "Debi (Debit or Credit Card)," "Food Stamps (self explanetory)" or "Tender (cash)."

The receipt then specifies a "Credit card" with the the next line" "Acct# XXXXXXXXXXXX5865," which designates a Visa card was used.

No smoke. No fire. Just a decided lack of observational skills mixed with a smattering of suspicion/prejudice.

I like the food store’s motto:

“Life is Full of Choices”,

which is printed at the bottom of the receipt.

"I would imagine some really poor people may sell part of theirs for cash to purchase things other than food - like cleaning products, toilet tissue," Meth, X, weed, Vitamin K, etc.

Just filling out the shopping list...

PS Cleaning products? You have got to be kidding me, right?

Guess what - this little video investigation shows that you can get Tattoo’s as well:

http://kstp.com/article/stories/s1835667.shtml?cat=63

“Want a tattoo? A pack of smokes? Use welfare cash. It’s unrestricted and unregulated”

Let me guess “Well if they want to get a Tattoo and not eat - that’s fine by me!”.

sigh

5 sodas
5 more sodas
+ 8 lobster and steak

************

The "5 more sodas" actually look like bottle deposits on the five cases of Dew. I wonder if this is a way of making a bit more money off the food stamps crowd...

Perhaps we should call "Barb" and inquire.

Goes to show how thoroughly unreliable "Snopes" is. "Snopes" is for "Dopes."

If someone wants to eat lobster one night and not have any more food for a week, why would you care?

Because I'm paying for it!

I don't care at all about what someone does with their own money. When it comes to my money you bet your sweet ass I do care! I don't dine on luxury foods and a person getting money from my pocket ought not to be dining on them either.

"Food stamps" now take the form of debit cards, you know. I guess the old paper version was damaging to the recipients' self-esteem, or something. < rolls eyes >

There must be some sort of cleaning product involved somewhere in the production of meth

Louis Wayne Cuff went to jail. He was the receipt dropper. Maybe if he didn’t litter he would never have been caught.

http://www.uppermichiganssource.com/news/story.aspx?id=655648

“Thirty-three-year-old Louis Wayne Cuff was sentenced to 45 days in the Menominee County Jail, with credit for one day served. He also received six months probation.

Cuff bought food, such as steak and lobster, with his girlfriend’s bridge card and then sold the food for half the price.

“He wants to be eligible to go out on the work van. That’s all that my client wants is the opportunity to be gainfully employed once again. At the present time, he is unemployed,” stated Cuff’s attorney.”

Note how the amount charged is "$141.78" and the amount paid is "$141.78" with no change given. Good trick with "food stamps."

Duuuuuhhh!

Are you saying people who get food stamps haven’t paid taxes? Working people also receive food stamps. Sorry - you don’t control what people choose to eat. That’s Michelle’s job.
