Perry still dominating national primary, up 13 on Romney

I'd be willing to vote for any of Perry, Bachmann, Cain, or even Gingrich.
I'd be willing to vote for Palin, if she ever actually becomes a candidate.
I'm not voting for Romney or Paul under any circumstances.
The rabid anti-Palin rhetoric back in 2008 came primarily from 'Rats. I expect rabid nuttiness from them.
The rabid anti-Perry rhetoric is coming from supposed Republicans, and I find it quite off-putting. It does not reflect well on the other candidates, or their supporters.
That isn’t true. I went back and watched some of the debate and his responses on Social Security did improve. I thought he did well the first half of the debate. He seems to struggle about half way through.
The illegal immigration thing he just isn’t going to win or look good to conservatives on because he’s wrong on the substance. He can learn to be less flustered by it and turn the topic to where we do agree on it but he’s never going to win that debate unless he changes his position.
He does need to improve on Gardisol though. I don’t care about Bachmann’s hysteria but Santorum is different.
And the difference with Bush wasn’t that he couldn’t defend himself but that he wouldn’t defend himself unless he had no other choice and then only so much as necessary to skate by. Bush was a good communicator when he wanted to be. Perry if anything is slightly too eager to defend himself from everyone.
Anyway I don’t know what to make of this poll. On the one hand he stays very closely to what he polled before showing Romney’s startegy may have backfired with republicans but PPP also said it hurt his general election polling. That’s Romney’s goal. Make perry toxic in a general and “unelectable and force Republican voters back by default NOT on the issues. But some sites are saying there were problems with the methodology so I don’t know if I should accept this poll or that one. I’m going to wait on other polls and ty and find the similiar trend.
I think I’m looking to next week’s polls more. The one area he’s weak is immigration. If he can survive hits on that he should be able to weather this pile on and emerge stronger after the debates once they re-engage in retail politics and stumping where he excells.
Guess he made a mistake there to huh?
I am done with you perry people....but there's still the ATT 500k endorsement that looms out there....you all better come up with your bullet points for that one soon.
To me this guy is toast...you still want to believe that's your choice but you need not post to me on the contrary don't bother.
How many CEOs does BOA have these days?
Perhaps you should write a letter to all of the CEOs at BOA? With your firm grasp on basic corporate structure, you may be able to completely revamp BOA into something productive!
Come on...admit it...you’re a 17 year-old troll. Nobody here substitutes “u” for “you”.
From the guy posted about a "high level ceo" at BOA. You must be a gimmick account, right?

Nah....Santorum didn’t hurt himself I think. Bachmann did because she didn’t know when to keep that trap shut after making a point. She turned a debate point people thought she won into chaos when she started making up mental retardation stories minutes later on Greta. Santorum has no shot to win but didn’t embarrass. Perry may have to thank Bachmann IF his poll numbers don’t take a decent sized decline next week because she’s successfully turning attention off his awkward response on Gardisol and his wrongheaded position on immigration. Immigration can hurt him with conservatives.
“The margin of error for the entire survey is +/-4.4%”
It would be nice if the Perry Haters would stop embarrassing themselves, and by proxy, Sarah Palin.
Anybody who calls this a two-man race is a blithering idiot. Remember where McCain as at this point? Single digits. Giuliani and Thompson were engaged in a “two-man race.” I’m putting all my eggs in the Newt basket.
Bachmann has lost so much support of folks that has supported her for a long time. You might want to check out what Rush thinks about the vaccination issue. Big thumbs down and says it is a non issue.
I don’t disagree with you. It wasn’t Reagan’s great debate performance that launched him to a landslide. The debate merely allowed Americans to see that he was an acceptable alternative to the hapless Jimmuh Carter. Folks were able to see that Reagan was intelligent and was not the boogeyman he had been painted out to be.
Great debate performances are indeed overrated, but gaffes can be significant, as you pointed out.
After Obama, Americans will be looking for someone who is, first and foremost, competent. Perry is quite competent, but he looked and sounded bewildered at times in the debate the other night.
And it isn’t debate technique that matters. It’s visceral. “Can I picture this person as president?” (How 53% of people came to that conclusion about Obama, I will never understand. I think there were other factors involved. Moral narcissism, people wanting to feel good about themselves for voting for a black guy, people wanting to feel “part of”, etc.)
Obama is poised for defeat, provided that the GOP nominee is someone who can be perceived as president. The media will be working overtime to boogeyman him, call him dumb, extreme, etc. I like how he stays cool under fire, but he was a stammering mess at the end of the night. It certainly gave me pause.
MSM won’t have to do a thing while our own side is trying to take out Perry.
Bachmann may have thought she was really smart in going after Perry re this vaccine business, but she succeeded in looking like a scorned harpy.
this poll was sep 8-11, so it was completed before the most recent debate took place.
No the pollster is just one of many msm/rep est pollsters that wants to pick our candidate.
They want to run against Perry
But keep your shorts on, despite the fact that ALL pollsters have an agenda, this phony poll does not even cover the last debate, not to mention that the one they really fear...Gov Sarah Palin, is not even in the poll.
In my mind the debates have hurt Perry. He appeared amateurish, weak and while well versed in his GOP opposition research not well prepared for national-issue questions.
I disagree. I think Perry received about 4 times the amount of attention of any other candidate, and perhaps twice the amount of attention of all the others combined.
In that huge amount of time devoted to him, he made no mistakes. Whether a popular position or not, he stood by it, and he appeared calm to me.
What are you going to say when Palin finally announces and rolls in under 15%?
