“Palin even went as far as to lend her voice to the charge leveled by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) during the debate against Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R): That he allowed a law to go though requiring HPV vaccinations for adolescent girls because of a $5,000 campaign donation and his relationship with his former chief of staff, who went on to lobby for a pharmaceutical company.

“IT was Governor Perry executing a tax increase without seeking the citizens representation.”

Again, this was to save lives of young girls. They can’t even vote so who is to deny them the right to be protected from cancer?

Palin not taking heat? Where have you been for the past 2 and a half years? There has never been a political figure take as much heat as has Sarah Palin. She and her entire family have been subjected to the most vicious lies and defamation imaginable.

Now, it's even coming from conservatives on this web site.

Sarah Palin has as much right to speak her mind publicly as ANY citizen of this country.

To hell with Reagan's 11th commandment. Sarah Palin HAD to violate it in Alaska because of corruption in the Republican Party in that state.

The destruction of America is largely the result of the corruption within BOTH parties.

Politicians of both parties have sold out their country for campaign cash.

She did seem a little bitter in that interview. The way she rolled off her past accomplishments and railed against Perry

I noticed a distinct difference in her appearance tonight on Gretta's show too. She was not her spunky self at all, seemed quite down actually, or perhaps angry and bitter like you suggested. I just saw a person, a normally vibrant person, who seemed really down.

Funded by the US/CDC? As in taxpayer money? For a vaccine for sexual promiscuity? Sarah Palin allowed that?

There is another way for young girls to be protected. IF they can be taught how to put a condom on a cucumber they can also be taught that IF they put that cucumber in their body they can get cancer.

Yes it was a payback. She felt she owed him, a decision she had to make with her conscience. I’ll leave this one up to her because this was one of those damned if you do, damned if you don’t. She has also lumped him in the establishment category when she talked about his calling us hobbits.

You still don’t get crony capitalism from McCain “making” her a household name. He picked the person he thought would be the best for his campaign (smartest thing it did, IMO). Once she was introduced it was up to her to convince the rest of the country (and subsequent book publishers) she had something to say. Before that she had to work hard enough coming up through the ranks from PTA to governorship to even get noticed by a national campaign. She did that all on her own.

That’s NOT crony capitalism. Crony capitalism is a direct relationship between a corporation and government (senators that become lobbyists who then have access to other senators that competing companies may not have. Or the revolving door between Fanny/Freddy, Goldmann Sachs, etc. & the executive branch, a chief of staff becoming a lobbyist for a company that would benefit from a direct contact to the governor, large union and/or corporate donations that grant you extra favors or special consideration when there will be legislation that affects your industry.

No Sarah had NO say what the Bush administration and the US Congress put into motion via the CDC. And we the taxpayers mandated by the federal government paid for it for the 'poor' girls.

She actually dissed Reagan’s 11th on Fox tonight.

Well, if you had the brains of a goose you would know she dissed many Republicans when she made governor in Alaska and brought some of the crooked SOBs to justice. There is no pride in going along with a**holes regardless of party.

What bothers me with Bachmann and Palin’s attacks on Perry on Gardasil is they they are questioning his motivation.

I believe that both of Perry’s parents are cancer survivors. Also, his wife is a nurse. Maybe she influenced him in talking of young women she had seen who had had this cancer. Could it be that he was just trying to prevent others from facing the horrors of cancer?

In the MSNBC debate, Perry spoke of a bill in Texas aimed at fighting cancers. This bill HB 2475 said, “This bill requires the Department of State Health Services to develop a strategic plan to eliminate mortality from cervical cancer by the year 2015…” “The strategic plan must be developed and delivered to the governor and legislature no later than December 31, 2006.”

This plan was delivered to Perry and is known as the “Texas Cervical Cancer Strategic Plan,” December 2006, by Texas Department of State Health Services in collaboration with The Texas Cancer Council.

Page 8, “Executive summary” Armed with this new HPV vaccine, we can achieve the moment when we know our goal — eliminating cervical cancer death and suffering — is in reach.”

Page 20, “Access to Care” - “Women must have access to cervical cancer screening to eliminate cervical cancer in Texas. The National Cancer Institute reports that groups of women with high cervical cancer mortality:...

•Tend not to have a usual source of health care, such as a family physician;

•Have low income and education levels;

•Are less likely to participate in regular cancer screenings and receive other preventive

… “Widespread vaccination is a key to reducing cervical cancer incidence in Texas”

Notice it is this plan that is delivered to Perry that mentions the new HPV vaccine.

Perry’s EO was a response to the “Texas Cervical Cancer Strategic Plan.” His motivation was to prevent cervical cancer. To attach other motivations is just a smear campaign.

I saw the interview and she did the dork a favor. She was picking up on what Bachmann had said, and it got things out in the open. You don't think the Commie Women's Groups, and all the radical rats, plus the DNC and the radical media are going to give him an anal exam?

She saved his butt, and he never had the decency to defend her on any of the trashy BS and horrific lies the Slimy Media hit her with. Not very manly, but he is in a big group of Pubbies on that token.

Do you think that when Texas allows oil companies, who contributed much more than the .00017% of Perry campaign donations that Merck gave, to drill in Texas that it means he is on the take with them also? Do you think “real” conservative candidates should just take no contributions because every donation has a possible conflict of interest attached to it, no matter how inconsequential that donation may be? How many elections do you suppose conservatives would win with zero dollars from any business? I think people are overlooking the possibility that perhaps he is telling the truth and he thought it was the right thing to do, as he thinks it is right to let oil companies drill in Texas regardless of who contributes to his campaign. I think it is important to note that when his constituents expressed their extreme displeasure with his decision, he dropped it. That incident showed me that he pays attention to what his constituents want. On the other hand our current president and the ‘Rats in DC don’t care a hoot what we think. Just look at all the garbage that Obama and the ‘Rats in DC shoved down our throats even when it was very clear that a majority of the voters opposed them on issues like bailouts and Obamacare. I like politicians who listen to the people that elected them and actually bend to their will at times.

There is this report:

http://www.hss.state.ak.us/publications/DHSS07AR.pdf

Please scroll down to the report by Beverly Wooley, Director Public Health. In it they report about obtaining funds for their Dept. to offer Gardisil. Then I found this little jewel:

"Governor fires Public Health Director

« on: June 05, 2009, 10:57:39 pm »

Today the employees of the Alaska Division of Public Health learned that their Director, Beverly Wooley, was forced to resign, or was fired, by Governor Palin. The Director's position is an appointed position, however, to my knowledge, a Director of Public Health has never before been fired. No one is certain why Bev was fired, however most speculate that it was around differences of opinion about womens' health. Public Health is quite active in issues related to family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, sex education, and other issues that the Governor does not support. Bev, on the other hand, has been a strong advocate for womens' health, both when she was the the Director of the Municipality of Anchorage Department of Health and Human Services, and also in her role as Director of the Alaska Division of Public Health (DPH)."

And then again this one appropriately reported by a site called "Progressive Alaska":

http://progressivealaska.blogspot.com/2009/06/palin-fires-womens-health-champion.html

Sunday, June 7, 2009

"Palin Fires Women's Health Champion - Public Health Director Beverly Wooley"

Looks to me like there are a lot of progressives in the Alaska DHSS.

Interesting that the Commissioner of the State Health dept., Karleen Jackson resigned on May 8, 2008.

This is her letter:

"It has been an honor to serve alongside each of you as we’ve worked to promote and protect the health and well-being of Alaskans. However, the Governor has accepted my resignation and effective Friday, May 9, Bill Hogan will serve as Acting Commissioner for the Department of Health and Social Services. Thank you for the numerous ways you have improved the health and social services programs in our state. I have no doubt that together you will continue to serve the public with ethics and integrity, promote clear and transparent government, and improve the health of Alaskans. Sincerely, Karleen K. Jackson Ph.D, Commissioner"

It appears that way, but after trying to find some more info on the net tonight, it looks like Alaska was one of 18 states who accepted the federal funds with the federal mandate. She wasn’t alone.

Please. TEA PARTY is about opposing taxation/mandates without representation. Governments at all levels have perfected the means and methodology of taxing US using whomever they can.

We are suppose to be vetting a person to elect to STOP this 'crony' capitalism. Sarah had NOTHING to do with mandating anyone to get or to have this vaccine. Rightly or wrongly the CDC got the funding to send out to the states to pay for the 'poor' or specific groups to get the vaccine. Apparently some or all insurance companies were NOT covering this vaccine. Hence Governor Perry mandating it to be covered. THAT was a tax increase, hidden by the insurance companies being required to cover the vaccine.

This whole subject reminds me of the internet tax that the Clintons/algore required telephone companies to collect. And are still collecting even to this day.
