Because I will NOT vote for Perry.

You will not vote for him in the general election against Obama? I just want to be clear here.

I have some difficulty trusting Perry. Especially the way the establishment have rallied around him as a comfortable alternative to the one they wish would just go to Alaska and sit down and shutup. I have a feeling with Perry the Platypus, it will be business as usual... you know scratch my back and I take care of you same ole’ same ole’ screw the average folks.

Now, if only Perrybots would realize that not every conservative who dislikes Rick Perry is "waiting for Sarah"

Waiting for Sarah? The crazier of the Perrybots say if we don't support RINO Mitt Perry and his pro-ILLEGAL alien agenda we are working for the DNC/Obama.

I’m not a fan of the concept. But having watched Perry supporters attacked repeatedly for posting in “Palin” threads, it is clear most people like the idea of candidates having threads.

So I’ve even recommended providing a version of the religion forum’s “CAUCUS” designations so people who really like a candidate can talk about that candidate without others coming in and interrupting. But not for myself, I tend to avoid caucus threads. It would tell me where NOT to read.

And yes, this ia a “Perry” thread, posted by a pro-Perry freeper.

But really, the issue isn’t Palin folks and other folks posting here, it’s the posting of unrelated articles, images, and discussions that detracts from the discussion.

A perfect example: In a thread about Sarah Palin defending and agreeing with Rick Perry’s comments on Social Security, what is the relevancy of a picture of Rudy Giuliani in drag?

If tou consider this a Perry thread about social security, it has no place. But worse, if you consider this a thread about Sarah Palin’s interview, are we relating HER to Rudy in Drag? No matter which candidate you think is being discussed, that picture, and a couple other discussions on this thread, are unrelated to the topic of the thread.

The establishment GOP is now a little worried that if Perry becomes the nominee, the Palin supporters... and there are many hardcore supporters... would let bygones be bygones and not be so “cultish”.

Nope... And before you pull the 'that's a vote for Obama' line...

I am sick of voting for the RINO. I'm sick of candidates who promise conservatism only to stab conservatives in the back once they've been elected. At least with Obama, I see the knife coming at me. With a RINO, it goes straight in my back.

I'm sick of candidates who preach conservatism, and are nothing of the sort. I'm sick of have the GOP/RNC expecting conservatives to fall behind the almighty (R), suck it up, and take one for the team.

I've been sucking it up too long, while RINOs have been just plan sucking.

It is time to end the elite, entrenched political class. It is time to stand up and support people who are true to the conservative cause, regardless of the consequences.

And it is time to get this country back on track by saying enough is enough.

That can't happen with the status quo. Only dead fish go with the flow. So I'm jumping out of the water.

If Obama wins, you and everyone else who falls in line begin the (R) will be to blame. Because you settled for the lesser of two evils.

Interesting. Sarah says "I don't know if I'll be one of those" who get into the race. Now, I see all kinds of her supporters who claim that she has decided to run, and she is just waiting for the right time to declare. They get wuite upset if people call her indecisive.

Now, Sarah either still hasn't decided, based on Sarah's own words, and can thus properly be described as indecisive; or she just lied on national TV.

Now that at least are acting like they think Palin needs their help to tear down a candidate Palin is friends with, has said good things about, and as recently as yesterday was defending against attacks much like they are making.

Or worse, they are acting like if they can’t destroy Perry and get his poll numbers down, Palin might see his strong showing and decide she doesn’t need to get in the race.

Of course, it could just be that they know how unfair Palin was treated, and feel it is their personal responsibility and mission to make sure every other candidate is treated equally unfairly.

I don't doubt for a second that all of those factors are in play.

As each day goes by the desperation becomes more apparent.

Only Sarah can save them now, why won't she speak?

They've done so much for her, put their lives on hold, fought dragons, all for what? Speak Sarah!

Yeah, what a way to garner votes... align yourself with the status quo candidates and then trash Palin supporters. Looks like McCain 2.0 to me.

Sarah Palin's comments on Rick Perry's Social Security 'Ponzi scheme' remarks at the GOP debate were likely intended to be helpful. Not necessarily to Governor Perry - but to clarify the issue, using Perry's words as a vehicle. I think Sarah Palin did what she intended to do and, as usual, did it quite well.

I'm a Sarah Palin supporter and while I don't know whether Palin is running or not (but I hope that she will) I don't care for some of the pro-Perry comments that condescendingly sniff that Sarah Palin has to stand back and accept the role they would assign her as a cheerleader for the real candidate, Rick Perry, and basically 'wait her turn' (2016) or gain 'experience', etc. This is old-school, 'establishment' thinking. Sarah Palin has proven herself already and serving as a senator for six years or whatever role her detractors (who always state that they' love' Sarah Palin...but, but...) deem sufficient to make her qualified to run for president certainly won't appease the left or those on the right who simply cannot accept her as president.

In a Palin/Perry match-up, they both have their strengths and weaknesses but for me, Sarah Palin is a person that I won't worry about betraying conservative values, once in office. I'm not claiming that Rick Perry is a RINO or a fraud because I don't believe he is either, but I feel more secure about Sarah Palin's commitment to conservative principles. If Palin runs for the Republican presidential nomination she'll be judged by Republican primary voters on her merits, which I believe are quite good. If she doesn't run, I doubt she'll endorse any GOP candidate but will support the party nominee, although if that were Romney, her support, like mine, would be mostly token. In any case, I believe that Sarah Palin will remain an asset to the Republican party and, perhaps, it's vehicle to regain the presidency in 2012.

Why lying seems to be acceptable on some fronts. Because even as early as last November Governor Perry said he was NOT going to run for the office of president. You all want to play your snark games, remember just how big Texas is... how lot of games yet to come.

Nope, you'll be to blame. And you've brought shame to yourself by posting something so stupid.

Hey Finny, I guess my question wasn't as "inane" as you suggested. Looks like there are people in the Palin crowd who will cry and take their toys home if she doesn't run/win the nomination.

Really? How? How is it constructive, at this point before the starting bell of the primaries, to argue whether or not Palin's supporters would do that? What can its answer (as if there IS one *rolls eyes*) yield that would help beat a president who is one of the most unpopular in history? What is your objective?

Look at it this way, seriously: IF right now on FR I was claiming that "the real question" was whether or not Perry supporters would try to torpedo Palin's campaign if she won the nomination, what on earth would be my objective? How would trying to foment discussion/debate/argument on that an imagined fear be constructive to the end goal of giving voters who despise liberalism and big government (and they are LEGION) a candidate who will replace Obama?

I maintain that either question, Palin or Perry supporters' supposed intent to torpedo the others' campaigns should the opposite win the nomiation are ... inane diversions.

And to think that you're so incredibly stupid that you'd boycott a candidate Sarah Palin called:

"...true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction. I like that about him: he doesn't care which way the wind blows, he acts on his beliefs."

Were you born this dumb or did you have to work at it?

Idiot.

What is really clear is that most Palin supporters, plus other conservatives and FR posters that learn about Perry's fake conservatism simply don't want another RINO to head up this country.

We will work against him because:
1. He is weak on illegal immigration and amnesty. It's the worst part of his record.
2. He is too wedded to his supporters with crony capitalism (pay to play the Texas way).
3. Spending. He allowed it to increase big time, much of which was pay backs.
4. The Gardisil episode.
5. His RINO instincts when he governs, vs. his fake conservatism when he runs.

If he wins, we'll figure it out then, right now we just don't want him to win so it's not an issue.

She'll speak when she thinks it's right to speak, much like Perry did.

One thing is for sure, at least when she speaks people listen........only the PerryKrishnas listen to him.

You wouldn't have to ask that question because there's no reason to believe it's true. Of course every single Perry supporter will support Palin if she wins the nomination. I challenge you to present evidence to the contrary. On the other hand, I've just proved that there are Palin supporters who will not vote for Perry if she doesn't run/win the nomination, even though Palin endorsed Perry for Governor, and has stated with her own pen that he is a great conservative.

It's a question that is worth asking.
