Hoffa on tea party, congressional conservatives: ‘Let’s take these sons of bitches out!’

While warming up a Detroit crowd for President Barack Obama’s Labor Day speech, Teamsters union president Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. said unions need to fight a “war” against tea partiers and congressional Republicans.

“President Obama, this is your army,” Hoffa said. “We are ready to march. Let’s take these sons of bitches out and take America back to where America we belong.”

I only have one thing to say to Mr. Hoffa.

Where's your daddy, Jimmy?

You're taking on more than you know.

My sentiments also. They may want to start a civil war, but they may not end it.

Someone want to remind Lil Jimmy that it was a Democrat that hounded his father and ran on his father’s ultimate conviction to become a NY Senator. It was a Republican that commuted his sentence...

“take America back to where America we belong.”

Where’s that? Reminds me of Sadaam’s minister of truth...(or whatever)

Yes, Hoffa and most of the other Obama surrogates, are not speaking for the entirety of their rank-and-file, any more than Obama ever speaks for the entirety of the American People. Hoffa and Obama DO speak , with one voice, however, for all those CEO types and their organized bureaucratic structures who see THEMSELVES as the direct beneficiaries of an Obama re-election. They couldn’t care less about jobs, the lack of which will always be someone else’s fault.
They care about maintaining their positions of power, the money flow into their institutions and from their institutions, and the cozy symbiosis they’ve always enjoyed.
And even at this late date, with their power and influence waning, they still envision a brighter day when they will ASCEND into am even bigger power relationship-—it’s positively delusional at this point.

Many moons ago, I was part of an organizing drive at FedEx for the Teamsters. I was naive and idealistic and a little ticked off, and my company had failed to boost wages despite increased productivity and profits, while our unionized competition (UPS Teamsters) was getting back-to-back raises.

It took me about six months to finally accept the fact that the Teamsters were just a bunch of back-stabbing turf-protecting morons with zero grasp of basic economics. They wanted to dictate orders, would not listen, were highly antagonistic to management and screwed up the whole thing. FedEx was very vulnerable at that time, and the Teamsters could have organized the entire company, but the Imperious Teamsters would not listen, insisted on turf wars for the Locals (refusing to work under the Railway Act when they could have pulled it off!) and messed the whole thing up. They just wanted to milk the whiners and slackers, and had no appreciation for the fact that a union has to be very careful not to kill the golden goose. They didn’t understand that we didn’t want a handout, that we were very proud of our work, and that if the enterprise does not move forward and fails, everybody is screwed.

I just couldn’t stand all the negativity and stupidity. In the end the Teamsters called me a company toady because I said it was important for FedEx to prosper (Me, who managed to get into knock down and and embarrassing arguments with Fred Smith himself, and various VP’s, arguing on behalf of hourlies).

My advice is, if you’re PO’d at your boss, tell him and don’t mince words. If he fires you, you shouldn’t be working there anyway, you should be somewhere else. If you are a serious producer, you will find somebody who will appreciate it. I stayed with FedEx ‘til retirement. Despite a few bumps in the road, it was overall a great ride. They couldn’t get along without me and the people like me that I worked with (and I was so proud to work with them).

You know, Fred did a pretty good job as well.

Obama’s “leading from behind” again. Jimmy Hoffa’s behind.
