I think Fund’s analysis is well thought out and may prove to be correct. President Perry and Energy Secretary Palin might just get us Michelle Bachmann’s two dollar gas - and that would be terrific for sooooo many reasons.
Now, I love Palin and have written extensively about her for years. I have my doubts on Perry’s conservatism - but the following quotes show that Perry may be more in touch with the zeitgeist of today:
A: Palin (many times since 2008) “I want to put government on the side of the people...”
B; Perry last week: “I want Washington as inconsequential in our lives as possible.”
Gotta say, quote B is the spirit of the times IMO.
You have no clue what you or John Fund is talking about:
Mr. Fund is helping Bachmann write her new book coming out...no bias there
Why would Sarah blast crony capitalism today in her speech as previewed by some reporters and then turn around and support a man that has issues of crony capitalism
Sarah already told Greta a few weeks ago that there us nobody out there that she could endorse and that was with Perry running
That’s the kind of temperature-taking that I appreciate. Thank you for pointing it out.
"I got tickled by watching Gov. Perry," said the former president [Bill Clinton]. "And he's saying, 'Oh, I'm going to Washington to make sure that the federal government stays as far away from you as possible while I ride on Air Force One and that Marine One helicopter and go to Camp David and travel around the world and have a good time.' I mean, this is crazy."
This is the best argument the supposedly smartest operator in the Democratic Party can muster?
If Clinton wants to make the increasingly and revoltingly unrepublican lifestyle of the American president a campaign issue, Perry should call his bluff.

Sarah is ‘WE The People’ and always has been. Let’s not split hairs because of one quote from Perry last week - let ‘the record’ speak.
Quote A is a meaningless platitude, Quote B is a specific policy objective.
On the side of the people? Like the 49% who don't pay income tax? Like the labor unions? If the "people" demand Washington run their lives, then I don't want the government to be on their side.
