Gotta say, quote B is the spirit of the times IMO.

Quote A is a meaningless platitude, Quote B is a specific policy objective.

On the side of the people? Like the 49% who don't pay income tax? Like the labor unions? If the "people" demand Washington run their lives, then I don't want the government to be on their side.
