Never-Wrong Pundit Picks Obama to Win in 2012

Allan Lichtman, the American University professor whose election formula has correctly called every president since Ronald Reagans 1984 re-election, has a belated birthday present for Barack Obama: Rest easy, your re-election is in the bag.
Even if I am being conservative, I dont see how Obama can lose, says Lichtman, the brains behind The Keys to the White House.
Lichtmans prediction helps to explain a quirk in some polling that finds that while Americans disapprove of the president, they still think he will win re-election

Real Americans do not decide the election and haven’t for years.
ditto.
Says a lot about voter fraud and it's part in our election process.
He will win only if the election is fixed. Every voted needs to be verified as a legal vote.
There’s a first time for everything.
We’re only talking a 2^7 probability to get them all correct, and with some of the races being obvious (Mondale, Dole, McCain losses) we’re really only talking about something that is no more remote than a 1 in 16 chance. If you had 16 people flipping coins to determine each contested election, odds are at least one will pick them all right.
This is as stupid as it gets. Out of 10 people, 3 were probably right in every election since 1984. His factors are backward looking, and self-fulfilling.
Got to be wrong sometime, might as well be now.
Obama will not win more than 15 states. You heard it here.
Yea, “university professors” are the smartest people around....
I thought it all depended on who won the last home Washington Redskins game before the election. Or maybe it was who won the poll in that nationally distributed student newspaper.
Policy change: The incumbent administration effects major changes in national policy. There have been major policy changes in this administration. Weve seen the biggest stimulus in history and an complete overhaul of the healthcare system so I gave him policy change, says the scholar. Another win for Obama.
Social unrest: There is no sustained social unrest during the term. Says Lichtman, There wasnt any social unrest when I made my predictions for 2012 and there still isnt. Obama wins a fifth key here.
Scandal: The incumbent administration is untainted by major scandal. This administration has been squeaky clean. Theres nothing on scandal, says Lichtman. Another Obama win.
It doesn’t matter who votes. What matters is who COUNTS the votes.
And history has also shown that no President has been re-elected with the jobless claims above 8%. Even the rosiest of predictions only has it down to 8.5% by election day. So I guess there are some of these factors on our side as well. Actually, I would say the jobless rate is a much better barometer than a liberal historian.
Bush, Xlinton, Bush, Zer0
He must be a genius.
No way Obama can win but we can certainly lose is we dont stay strong.
But, I don't agree with the fortune teller. We have never been in this situation. Our best hope is a conservative that takes his administration on , all aspects.
