She’s not supposed to get here to us until about 11pm - just like Isabel. It’s been raining here since 5am.
The stream is not a steering force

I know that, but it’s warm and warm water is what feeds a hurricane. Cool waters are death sentence to them. That’s why you don’t see the big Cape Verde storms until later in the season. The water temps are still too cool.
Hang in there! Hope you can get a nice big thermos full of coffee or hot chocolate fixed up before the power shuts down for the duration. Please check in with us when you can. Godspeed.
She is with us in Bucks county. Our shore place is in Ocean City N.J.2 blocks from the beach.I know you guys are here.(((((Hugs))))
Neighbor had all of his trees cut down after Hugo. Sure regrets it now because in the summer, his power bill is outrageous. No shade. Funny part is now he still get leaves in his yard from our trees.
I just talked to my sister in Maryland. The are expecting the worst of whatever it will be from * pm to 12 AM tonight. She said so far, lots of rain, no flooding, winds 10-15 at times.
LOL! That is funny....
Thanks Yorkie.(((((Hugs)))))
Thanks! We’re good so far. The Mrs cooked a lot of food, we made a lot of ice, recharged everything, have a land line phone to plug in and cell phones to post on the net.
We were a group of 5. We went into retired neighborhoods and cleared them out in short order. We were happy to do it and these folks were happy to see us. The area was cleaned up just as fast as we could do it.
Past few years don’t watch hardly any TV. Just to see what the buzz was about overnight watched ten minutes of TWC, and regretted it. What a waste. Same for the other channel samples surfed through.
Overwrought emotional effect mongering and teasers. Constant. Very low density info.
I like this thread, much higher info density. Also Wunderground.
Past tense? Does that mean it's already over?
Say what you mean. Spell it out dude. Don’t assume folks understand abbreviations. For the sake of better clearer information.
I found one area where the eye had to have crossed since it had a baro of 28.15 and the winds did a 360, but no really high winds?
This is an odd storm. I can’t recall a greater disparity between the low central pressure (*still* around 950, despite all the interaction with land) and the not-terribly-impressive wind levels. It’s a CAT 1 storm with CAT 3 pressure. Irene may turn out to have more staying power than you’d expect from the wind category alone.
Perhaps this blog will help to settle the squabble? The storm surge, according to this meteorologist, is the problem with Irene.

We’re looking at “ponding on roadways” in New Hampshire overnight and tomorrow...hoping the administration will send a truckload of Bounty our way so we can sop it up.
Local philly channel said that if you lose electricity you probably will not get it back for 7-10 days.
Maybe this is common knowlege but I just saw it, and if true.......
GOOD FREAKIN' GRIEF!!!!!
Never let a good crisis go to waste, even if it is a Cat 1 downgrade or TS.......!!!
