My first thought was that Gov. Palin had just announced.

On the 12th floor here in downtown Toronto. About 20 seconds of swaying. Definately felt in this part of Canada. First ever for me and pretty disoreinting.

Transcript of text message between me and my daughter. She's 16 and traveling from Ocean City, MD back home to PA during the earthquake:
me: u there? ok? just felt an earthquake
her: ok, where is the earthquake?
me: somewhere in Va. people feeling it all over the east coast
her: it's a sign from God to Obama
I'm a proud dad. I must have done something right in raising her.

Didn’t feel a thing in Central Bucks. Husband didn’t feel it in Doylestown either.

I’m near Winchester, glad I got that $35/year earthquake rider on my homeowner’s insurance. Just checked my basement and I have foundation cracks. Anyone know if that’s gonna go over my $500 deductible? Cracks are at joints of cinderblock columns with rest of wall and about 1 inch.

7.5 is of course a tremendous earthquake. I wouldn't worry about the foreshock business...that usually doesn't pan out.

Gov. Goofy (Mark Dayton) is still hiding under his desk from the anthrax scare a few years ago.

They better hope this isn’t a foreshock.

LASTED 1-15 SECONDS, WAS PRETTY HARD. I AM NO LONGER AN EARTHQUAKE VIRGINWell, from someone who has been around the block a few times, how did it feel?
I'd have to say your first quake was a significant one. Even here in California we would consider that one a significant shaker. Hope you are well. Remember to watch the pool water slosh back and forth if you have a pool or at least take note of the chandelier swinging.

“Funny how the East Coast people are having puppies over this.”
I was thinking the same think. But then again they probably dont have the earthquake building codes like we do out here on the west cost. A 5.9 out here would cause very light damage.

How long before we hear the very same thing out of Obamas mouth(once he is dragged off the golf course)? He is sure to blame his missed putt on 'Bush's Fault'!

“we evacuated” & (just came back)
Depending on the context, and in light of the earthquake, that statement could have another more “messy” and less than “fragrant” meaning.
Or as the heineken looter man might say...”lahk to Sh— muh pannnts, sho’ nuff!”

Funny...somewhere Harold Camping is claiming credit for predicting this one.
