SarahPAC: Setting The Record Straight – Wrong & Misleading

Posted on August 22 2011 - 11:33 PM - Posted by:

SarahPAC released the following statement:

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.

Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:

Here she is, in her own words:

Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?

Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but…

Q: So by next month?

Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.

A few moments later, there was this exchange:

Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?

Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.

Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?

Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.

Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?

Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.

Hmmmm. Interesting. Even if she announces ahead of time, there’s no rule that requires her to participate in the news media hosted debates.

IIRC, Constitution Day is September 17, 2011, so that might be a good patriotic day to announce!!!

I am still hoping she announces September 3, 2011, and that she participates in the TEA PARTY EXPRESS/cnn DEBATE, IN TAMPA ON SEPTEMBER 12, since I have plans to attend!

I think he's the second most electable of all the potential candidates.......and other than his immigration squishiness, I find him acceptable (so far). As you well know, I am not on the Perry bandwagon and it will take me a lot to get there.

See my post last night to LiberalLieSlayer, I understand what you are saying about W. So far Perry has not demonstrated to me he will be W's clone (so far).

I do think Palin is not only the better candidate, but if she runs and wins, has the potential to be a great president. Character is destiny, and she seems to have it in spades.

Nerves are fraying, tempers are short. And the convention is 12 months away.

I was very active in the Dem process in 1968. Things were changing, in unpredictable ways, constantly. And the ball didn't even start rolling until November, 1967.

I have been a very vocal advocate here for Palin. In some important ways, she is the only one who can both do what needs doing, and has a chance to win.

But, unlike a lot of her supporters, I am becoming more and more uncertain about what she will choose to do.

I've had a lot of exchanges with CW, objecting to her guy because I think he is a globalist. I've been surprised at the number of FReepers who still believe in globalism as a good thing (who believe it can be limited or contained without destroying the Constitution).

That having been said, we don't NEED a candidate now. We NEED a winner on August 29, 2012, IOW, 371 days from now.

We need, in the meantime, to try to block a RINO dominating the process (Romney and Huntsman, plus late-entry jokes like Pataki) and keep Sarah in the game if she's not ready to announce.

I strongly believe the dynamics of 2012 will favor a late entry - the later, the better - because the MSM will grind to dust any frontrunner who emerges before, say, May 2012.

It is even possible, like 1968, that the correlation of forces will not be known before late June or early July.

In any event, I think CW is doing a good, fair job for her guy, I'm not buying it so far, and we have a long way to go. I hope she sticks around.

I agree that he won’t be GWB’s clone, he’ll be worse. I don’t want to post what I really think about him at this particular juncture, on the open forum, because I see no useful purpose in that and I am subject to changing my mind.

Palin must run and win, so that everything else is moot.

We either run, win or lose with a TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVE OR WE WIN NOTHING WORTH WINNING.

NO MORE RINOS, EVER.

Good Morning, onyx. I was not going to post today, then I (first thing) came upon this thread started by you. I have read all of the comments (extensively and closely), and even saw some between the lines. The outpouring of love for Sarah (here at FR) always brings tears to my eyes. Though not connected with Sarah’s campaign, in any way, I am connected with Sarah’s supporters. One would have to believe the prayers which have flown up from America and pleas for justice, and mercy have been heard by our God. I too await. It is Sarah’s and her families decision. Sarah has my full support whatever her and her families decision shall be. More prayer and more waiting and I agree most sincerely with another who has posted on this thread and typed .... Good things come to those who wait. I await, and offer another prayer ... then pray WE DON’T GET FOOLED AGAIN.

LOL. Oookay, it's your thread......:-)

I have to admit I'm upset that you might be in Tampa if she announces on the 3rd.

And I won't be jealous.......

Same here as it pertains to Perry.

You’re very kind, Jim Noble, and of course, CW is most welcome to support her candidate, but she was out of line with her posting on this thread this morning, and I called her out for it first, followed by Jim. I’ve since learned from a post and link on this thread by SamAdams76, that she has been SPAM posting the same on Palin threads. That’s not merely “doing a good, fair job for her guy”, that’s trolling.

You say that we need to block RINOS from dominating the process and I think that includes CW’s candidate.

I am grateful we will have a marathon primary season. Hopefully, we will nominate a Tea Party Conservative, and prayerfully she will be Governor Sarah Palin, [as you said] “on August 29, 2012, IOW, 371 days from now.”

Be well!

I am concerned about the time line to Perry`s conversion to Christ.

Here is what we know...He was a Democrat in 1988, supported the Democrat platform at the time. Was good with Democrat appointments to the Supreme Court, heck was fine with a Democrat President!

So we know he did not have the Spirit of Christ within him in 1988, because a vote for a Democrat, was and still is, a vote for removal of Christ from classroom/public square etc...abortion etc etc etc

So he was not a Christian then.

Go back to just 2008...we are to believe that he regrets his past as a Democrat, and all that went with it, and yet as recently as 2008 supported a man for President that was pro abortion, pro gay etc in Rudy G ?

So what am I to believe? Now he holds prayer meetings, not saying he is a phony, that`s not for me to say...AND I AM NOT SAYING IT NOW!

I would like to know more about his conversion to Christ time line.

So he regrets his voting Democrat supporting abortion etc etc. We are to believe he was on his knees before God in repentance, perhaps weeping before the Lord with a humble repentant heart...Praise The Lord if that`s the case!!!

However in 2008 he backs a man for President that again holds these same Democrat views, the same views that we are to believe he rejected with a heavy heart in tears before the Lord.

It`s not judging to ask the important life/death decisions! So save the accusations for Sunday.

Which Perry is running for President? The one that openly and happily supported Al Gore in 1998? Or the Perry that was in repentance before the Lord when he converted to Christ? Or the one that supported Rudy G, pro abortion anti family guy in 2008.

You would think that if he was so repentant about his views in 1988, that he would not again backslide in 2008 to pro abortion anti family values?

What`s the real deal? I have no idea, is he the guy that holds the prayer meetings? Or is he still holding the views of Rudy G?

What is the time line to his accepting Christ. What about these shots for children in school etc?

So now I am hearing all the right things from him, he does not believe in evolution, is solidly pro life etc. Hopefully that`s his new positions, hopefully the prayer meeting guy is the authentic Perry, and not the 2008 Perry.

I think if it`s fair to question Romney about his changing positions over the years... IT IS FAIR, then it is also fair to ask the same questions about Perry`s seemingly ever changing positions.

Governor Sarah Palin on the other hand, has held the same views on these important Christian issues since her youth! She has not wavered with the wind!

“You will be best served if you read Jim Robinson’s comments on this thread, not mine. He’s not all that fond of Perry either, so don’t expect a lot of us to rally around GWBII.”

Good morning, onyx. I see your info thread was up for about a minute before a troll began to try to hijack it with an “invitation” to support Rick Perry. This happens routinely on Palin discussion threads, but I suppose they are ramping up their efforts as D-Day approaches in the next few days or weeks.

Jim Robinson delivered a series of replies to the troll’s request for “surrender” that would have made General Anthony MacAuliffe (who delivered the famous “nuts” reply to the German request for surrender at Bastogne) proud. It certainly made me proud. Jim says more in fewer words than anyone since Abe Lincoln. And he and Rush have about the same record for accuracy...99.44%. I can set my watch by those two..and Mark Levin.
