DNC chief: President Obama's reelection bid in 'good shape' By Michael O'Brien - 08/14/11 11:56 AM ET

President Obama's reelection effort is in "remarkably good shape," the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) asserted on Sunday.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), the DNC chief, said that she doesn't think the president's bid for a second term is in trouble.

"Not at all," Wasserman Schultz said on CBS's "Face the Nation" when asked if Obama was in political trouble.

"The president is in actually remarkably good shape, given that he is still struggling to help pull our economy out of the Republican -- the Republican recession that he inherited. His numbers are still strong. He still has widespread support. If anyone is in trouble, it's the Republican Party," she said.

Obama's numbers aren't stellar on their own, but they improve somewhat when he's matched against Republicans. He reversed a two-month slide in the generic ballot, taking the lead in Gallup's monthly test of the president's strength against a nameless Republican.

Democrats are betting that the conservative strand that's dominating the GOP right now will advantage the president in 2012.

"Right now, they have a collection of candidates for president who are busy trying to out-right-wing each other," Wasserman Schultz argued. "Essentially, they are all so similar that they might as well be Legos; they're that interchangeable."

Funny that the article that posted immediately after this one talks about his job approvals dipping below 40%.

The only way that’s “good shape” is if there are third-party and maybe 4th-party challengers from the right.

Whatever. Let’s let the lefties have their delusions and we can watch their heads collectively explode next November when they see their guy get clobbered in a landslide.

He could be in good shape, if he’d quit as president and run for the senate, so he could keep voting present.

The Texas economic model has existed since before the Tea Party evolved out of citizen’s concerns. It has been successful for the state. Obviously, Perry has helped make that economic model work.

The Texas economic model is now generally endorsed by many republicans at the national level, including Tea Party representatives, who have adopted it as their own. That includes Michelle Bachman, bless her heart.

The other large state economic model is California’s. It has failed at the state level. Obama and the democrats have largely adopted that model for the national level, where it is failing as well.

Does not seem to be much of a contest does it?

The DNC should keep this crazy chick on for as long as possible. she really is the gift that keeps on giving. She is the same buffoon who said that the economy is in good shape a few days before we were downgraded for the first time EVER. Debbie, dumb as a bucket of rocks doesn’t even believe to describe what she is

Geesh, he has a 39% approval rating. When Bush was at 38% they declared him over. LOL

Maybe this means they have all the cheating bases covered.

Remember, folks, Nancy Pelosi said the Democrats would hold the house in 2010. Just as the Democrats were toast in 2010, POTUS Obama will not be re-elected come November, 2012, and....he will take his Democrat Party down with him in total!!!
