Bachman bests Paul. Pawlenty third. Romney fourth. Works for me!
As far as I can see (from the description at the bottom) there seem to be benefits in spreading them out and preventing the way too early ones.
I’m with you on suspecting the motives of the current RNC and DNC old boys given the current crop but the scheduling seems reasonable.
Never having lived in a “caucus state” those rules remain a mystery to me.
Palin responsible for nearly 2mil for Bachmann’s re election campaign?
Wow. that train of thought is so catty.Palin does not think like this why do you? Is this supposed Palin contribution of nearly 2mil because of a endorsement? You are foretelling the unknown in assuming MB would not have raised that money with out an endorsement.Bachmann is known for superb fundraising and I find it odd that you somehow glean it appropriate to pump up your candidate Palin; by saying this. If Palin is it; why isn’t she running?
We simply must agree to disagree as I don’t think Palin will get the nomination if she does run. She is sitting on the fence when she needed to get in to prove herself in debate as a POTUS to independent voters and issues to possibly get more votes then just her core base. A lot of these votes are now with those that have actually thrown their hat in and can take on Obama in a national election. Just her base is not enough to win a national election.
Next you will say Perry is doing well so far only because Palin endorsed him. Palin is fantastic but you really need to get a grip of political reality.
Neither Romney or Perry are in the first tier. The first tier are Palin (until she declares she is not running), Bachmann, Cain and West.
A Marxist Group, Not a Liberal Group, Heckled Mitt Romney

So you think voting for a RINO (aka demrat) is somehow couragious or smart? Doing that only guarantees the demrat co opted GOP continues to serve up RINOs. With these people the trip down Marxist lane will be somewhat less abrupt a bumpy than the course Onada has us on. But the result will ultimately be the same. America will be fashioned into a Marxist state.
But then again, maybe it’s just plain cool rooting for people who believe in a political/economic philosophy that’s failed everytime it’s been tried.
I agree!
I see it sort of like this.....Perry only decided conclusively to run last week. Therefore, he was unable to participate in the Iowa debates from a practical standpoint. Furthermore, to announce "IN IOWA" would have been frowned upon even more - stealing the thunder from those who worked so hard in Iowa, in Iowa.
I think he made a respectful decision by announcing OUTSIDE of Iowa. And by visiting Iowa as soon as the other candidates had their day in the limelight. If this in your eyes showed ZERO CLASS, then I hope you feel similarly toward Palin - who busted into the Iowa scene and still won't tell anybody her intentions.
my .02
By “first tier” I refer not to how they stand in our affections but to their strength and resources as candidates.
Herman Cain’s interview on Michael Savage’s show Friday was enlightening. He has a Math and Physics background, and worked for the US Navy as a civilian. He may have a shot, if we can overcome the mantra that he just ran a pizza joint!
Why? Because the media tells us so? Because we listen to them even though we are fully aware that they will lie, steal, and bully us to support their socialist standard bearers in both parties?
I make no such suppositions. It's sad how much we allow ourselves to be manipulated by the ministry of propaganda.
How interesting. Thank you. I’ve learned an enormous amount on this subject.
Thanks again NN
The establishment said that about Reagan in ‘76 and in ‘80. People fell for it in ‘76 so we ended up with Carter. In ‘80 the people went against the establishment, nominated Reagan, and we won by a landslide.
Bachmann 2012 = Morning in America
Those of us who attended the RPOF Presidency IV back in 2007 sadly, yet quickly realized that Fred Thompson was not a viable candidate. While he performed reasonably well during the televised debate, he was a walking disaster during his stump speech and he exited his own reception after barely ten minutes. His lovely wife Jeri stayed and worked the room in his absence.
Those of us who attended the RPOF event in 2007 reported our observations here about Fred Thompson's utterly disappointing appearance. We took a lot of heat from Fredhead Dreamers who called us all sorts of derogatory names and descriptions. It didn't matter that we went there hoping Thompson was the outstanding candidate. Where is Fred Thompson now? Selling reverse mortgages on television.
I like Cain.
Perry/Bachmann
Perry/Haley
Perry/Rubio
Perry/West
Perry/Cain
Perry/Santorum for PA
That is what was said about Reagan and this polls significance is that Romney won’t be crowned and Bachmann is doing very well in debates and she is resignating people wanting real change.
Thank you. Well said.
Well at least those are reasons. I really hate the name calling on our side. I wanted to believe that was just a tactic the left used when because they nothing to say.
These complaints about Bachmann for stepping up to the plate are too much. The one I replied to wants all the real candidates to pull out of the race to support the non-candidate who's not even running.
Oh, and don't forget those nasty rumors that ‘the Bachmann’ camp is spreading that Palin is not running. Well??? You don't hear any NASSTY rumors like that spread about Bachmann maybe because she is actually a candidate, Oh I forget, because she is not ‘a threat’ even though she is actually a candidate LOL
You are right, and to be honest, I am surprised that Newt is still in the race. Now, to your point...while this might allow a candidate to grow a base, is it really growing it when you buy 6000 tickets for an event, but only 4500 of them vote in your favor. If anything, it shows that people like Cain, who didn’t advertise and didn’t bus people in, were the real winners of this event (Santorum included).
