I think Christie would be a magnificent candidate, and wish he would get in the race. There is still time.....
But she's not a politician. She's me! (Oh, wait, that was Christine O'Nutcase...)
Uh, I mean, she's one of us! </sarc>
So yes, I'm skeptical of Palin. You betcha. So far she's shown me nothing of substance to get excited about. Yes, she's a political conservative, but that's not enough for me. I set the bar for my vote much higher than mere ideology.
You're not alone. My mind is still open, but she's got a lot of convincing to do (not just convincing me, but the electorate in general).
I really like Christie and I like Walker but I agree with Christies decision not to run for POTUS right now. New governors like them need to serve their (first) terms to completion and then get re-elected after the budget cuts and tax cuts are shown to be a success, and then they will be powerful forces as well as examples of success that we need. It is not their time yet and it does not make me happy to accept this.
Christie as governor of a liberal state will attract a deal criticism for some of his positions, ones that I wont mention now since he is not running for POTUS. Something to keep in mind.
As for being negative, please explain how stating the simple fact that McGreevy, Spitzer and Palin() are the only US governors in more than a century to quit before the end of their first term is either negative or positive. Please be specific.
And again, thanks for your interest in my personal life.

I hear ya. Your rationale makes sense but I am viewing the current situation as an emergency. :):)
Christie has a slightly populist feel, which I think America can relate to and would welcome after the frosty loftiness of Ubama.

You forgot to say goodbye, and hang up ;-)
You exposed the REAL trolls. Good job!
Are things really that bad ?? LOL, just teasing you :)
It was just my opinion, I don't have any problems with you calling on him to run. Some like to post that they want DeMint to run, yet I know for sure he is not running either. Christie has his hands full in NY, home of the Soprano's.
I figure (national) Republicans may lose another unlosable race. I see little to inspire me there. Christie and Walker are inspiring.
Run, Sarah. Run!

It was one hell of a coincidence those three (two to defend the sleeper) all showing up at nearly the same time to join in together on the name calling-fest attack, and the throwing of baseless accusations,
Their lesson book says :
” Rule 1 of ’of attack and destroy’ posting:
“Always falsely accuse those that you are attacking of doing the same as you do every day and to them, to give you the appearance of a moral justification. If you mug an old lady with two other helpers holding her down, accuse her of being the mugger”
Her defenders like to say that she quit because of the lawsuits.
In her resignation speech, Palin () mentions the lawsuits but doesn't give that as the reason for her resignation.
From the resignation speech of Sarah Palin ():
And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldnt run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade as so many politicians do. And then I thought thats whats wrong many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and milk it. Im not putting Alaska through that I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! ? Thats not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old politics as usual. I promised that four years ago and I meant it.
You can read the full transcript here and watch the speech here: Part1 Part2
I don't know how you can claim lame duck status when you have 16 months left in your term.
A few months later with Bill O'Reilly, she again cited the "lame duck" status as her reason for quitting.
She has my vote.
That being said, there are at least three other current or potential candidates that I would work for and donate to.
Then the second tier, I could stomach but could not bring myself to work for, let alone actively support. Of the whole bunch, there is only one I could not vote for: his Romness, the only person this side of pond that could get O re-elected.
I am not a sufferer of PWS. I do understand some of the concerns of many who frequently post to the negative on pro-Palin posts, AKA PDSers. Therefor, I would suggest that, as far as FR goes, let us assume that SP is nominated. The best plan in such case is to have a great #2 ready to take over if their "she quit" argument has any value.
What seems obvious is the following list for VP, in my order of choice: 1. Rick Perry, if he would accept the second seat. 2. Herman Cain, same as RP, but likely more receptive. 3. Michele Bachmann, already running for VP, but not as trustworthy.
I know many will suggest any of several others, but as part of her cabinet, I see John Bolton as SoS, Rudy as AG, West as SecDef and either Cain or Ryan at Treasury. Next tier, Senate Majority leader and (surprise), Gingrich as speaker.
” don’t know how you can claim lame duck status when you have 16 months left in your term. “
I would really like to hear that myself ;-)
See image at 570. How is it any different from the Newsweek cover?
Demonic possession. It's very hard on the body.
As for your burglary example, in Alaska, non-violent felonies do time out in 5 years. Delayed discovery wont help you if you wait too long. For example, if you "discover" a nonviolent burglary six years after it happened, even if the reason you discovered it was they send you a digital photo of themselves in the act in your home, they are going to get off scott free. Sorry. Its true. Not pretty, I know, but the law is designed that way on purpose, to prevent the grave injustice of perpetual liability of the kind you are proposing for good people with bad, persistent enemies, like, for example, Governor Palin.
But all of this is academic, because the statute defines its subjects clearly as current public officers, and specifically excludes former public officers. See AS 39.52.910(a). What I am not seeing from your side of the bench, counselor, is even the most primitive recognition of that fact. Why? Because if you once admit that part of the statute into the discussion, it utterly destroys your premise.
So instead, you torment me with purported deficiencies in my speeding analogies, and you use arguably unconstitutional practices to do so! What Id like to see, what would make me feel we were having a real conversation instead of a shout-fest, is just some hint of a clue that you understand that the statute has gone out of its way to make sure the reader knows it is intentionally limiting the effect of all its provisions, including discovery, to current public officers exclusively, unless otherwise stated. See AS 39.52.910.
LOL. This guy has a paranoid streak wider than the KOS posters.......
But just so he knows the truth.....muahahahaha.......he should know that Soros calls us direct (after giving us new cars), so that we can immediately come on the threads to bash poor, innocent never said a snarky or bad word about Palin and her supporters, SOL.
Once he (Soros) dials up his secret decoder, the three of us chant Sarah's name several times (in unison) first, then come on and try to malign, lie and misconstrue poor old innocent sickolib for the liberal cause.
Dang it, he found out too......that SOL is one amazingly savvy poster........
:-)
Which deadline is that? My info says the GOP primary filing deadline for Texas is next January. It's just a quick look, so it could be wrong. Do you have a source?
