Just days after announcing her presidential candidacy, Minnesota GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann finds herself on the defensive and under attack from virtually every quarter in the media.

This is true. Our local Fox affiliate had an expose on the other night about Bachmann’s hypocracy in speaking out on need to get spending under control when her and her husband took over $100,000 in medicare/medicaid benefits. Michelle Bachmann’s husband is a therapist and accepted medicare/medicaid payments from patients. They had lists of amounts and the whole thing was very dramatic with totals in huge type. At the end they said very quickly that it would have been unethical and even illegal for him to reject patients paying with medicare/medicaid.
Not impressive credentials. Do not measure up.
Treated with more scorn, actually, because to get 3 mediocre degrees is worse than 1 mediocre degree. Because the person with all the degrees obviously cares about degrees, and
Marcus has what appears to be a mail order phd.
Bachmann is still my 3rd choice, but they will have a very easy time ripping Bachmann up. Todd vs Marcus is a huge advantage for team Palin. I have a favorable opinion of Bachmann, and I want a tea party candidate to win the Republican nomination, and Bachmann qualifies as tea party, but the recent flurry of background info on Bachmann, if true, makes it seem like she’d be ripped apart with ease in Fall 2012 if she got the nomination. All the “damage” done to Palin in 3 years could be dropped on Bachmann in a week.
And Palin, and not Bachmann, can remedy that simply by being a reasonably intelligent person on stage alongside the other candidates.
In most of these things you call "bizarre", she was essentially correct. The "errors" were distortions by the media. For instance, John Wayne's parents actually lived in Waterloo, IA, before Wayne was born. He was born, and grew up just 120 miles away, in Winterset. Bachmann has spoken frequently of "living in John Wayne's America". She clearly did not mean John Wayne Gacy, who was born in Chicago, and lived just a few months in Waterloo IA as a teenager.
The reference by Chris Wallace calling her a flake because she said "30,000 civilians were killed" did not mention the fact that she was quoteing an authority who did say that. Note that Wallace did not call Obama a flake when Obama personally said that 10,000 people were killed in a tornado that actually killed only 12. The bizarre references are the press, not Michelle Bachmann
Sorry, but I’ve grown weary of the “pity party/victim verbiage” now so very fashionable in politics.
If Republicans in general and Conservatives in particular are so dense as to think that the MSM will not vigorously attack them, and plan accordingly for such an onslaught, then, they don’t deserve to remain in politics.
I’m heartily sick of the whining. These days, there are many, many venues through which to get out your message. The days of only 3 channels (4 if you were fortunate enough to pick up the CBC) to pick from are long gone.
I might agree with you, if blacks hadn’t voted for the “Democrat” candidate for President (after all that happened) in numbers that approached 98%.
I haven’t seen any attacks coming from the cable news networks. They are passing her off as some well rounded, ready for the presidency candidate. We all know what that means. When a Chris Mathews does a 180 and goes from mocking and ridicule to suddenly proud that he found you, it’s not good and it says quite a bit.

This is fatal, basically, for November 2012. And this is based, I think, on one LA Times blog article.
It’ll be hard to find 51% of the American people wanting a “first man” who has a job healing gays who seems like a closeted gay himself. When Palin RT Tammy Bruce as seen above, we wondered here what she might have been talking about. Perhaps what Palin was saying was “look under Marcus’s bed”
Yeah, really you don't help with such easily refudiated claims
he was in his mid-20s, he lived in Waterloo for 3 years, until he was arrested and jailed for sexually assaulting two local teenaged boys. He was fairly well known as a local businessman and Jaycee member at the time. And this happened while Michelle was still living in Waterloo.
She knew this would happen. She will handle it. So far I think Bachmann has acquited herself very well on TV and in her speeches. I look forward to voting for her in the GA primary.
I'd have to say that I agree with you. Her lack of executive experience give me some pause, but then she could assemble a team far better than Obama's kiddies and that would put us light-years ahead of where we are now.
Michelle left Waterloo while in grade school. Gacy was arrested when she was about 10. I doubt some 10 year old in another state is going to be too much interested in some pervert getting arrested in Iowa.
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them
Is everybody familiar with the movie quote, “Welcome to the party, pal!”?
I’m more amused by those who seem to think this has NEVER happened to a conservative woman before. LOLOLOL!
I meant 2 Cor...
but I should have extended it to vs 16, because that’s where it says the scent of Christ is the stench of death to those who are perishing.
