The Transportation Security Administration stood by its security officers Sunday after a Florida woman complained that her cancer-stricken, 95-year-old mother was patted down and forced to remove her adult diaper while going through security.
Reports of the incident took hold in social media, with scores of comments on the topic and reposts appearing hourly on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
The TSA released a statement Sunday defending its agents' actions at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
"While every person and item must be screened before entering the secure boarding area, TSA works with passengers to resolve security alarms in a respectful and sensitive manner," the federal agency said. "We have reviewed the circumstances involving this screening and determined that our officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure."
Jean Weber told CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on Sunday that the security officers may have been procedurally correct, but she still does not believe they were justified, especially given her mother's frail condition.

After this 95 year old terminally ill American citizen, a lady on her way home to die, was forced to remove her adult diaper, was she then allowed to put on another diaper once she was on the plane, or was she forced to wet and/or mess herself??
I don’t remember ever being so outraged over this TSA garbage.
Flying While White.
It's finally starting to make sense.
I’m getting on an airplane, not being admitted into a prison cell. Unless and until there is profiling, only cavity searches will make the plane truly safe.
It's now 2 years and three months since I set foot in a plane. AND I LIKE IT!!!
Nothing else will work.
The looming bankruptcy of a government-subsidized industry will get their attention.
If you're not willing to do that, then shut up and bend over.
This is truly the one of biggest demonic scams on Americans. Why candidates aren’t screaming about this is a mystery.
He grasped me firmly, but gently, just above my elbow and guided me into a room, his room. Then he quietly shut the door and we were alone. He approached me soundlessly, from behind, and s.........poke in a low, reassuring voice close to my ear. Just relax.
Without warning, he reached down and I felt his strong, calloused hands start at my ankles, gently probing, and moving upward along my calves, slowly but steadily. My breath caught in my throat.
I knew I should be afraid, but somehow I didn't care. His touch was so experienced, so sure. When his hands moved up onto my thighs, I gave a slight shudder, and partly closed my eyes. My pulse was pounding. I felt his knowing fingers caress my abdomen, my ribcage. And then, as he cupped my firm, full breasts in his hands, I inhaled sharply.
Probing, searching, knowing what he wanted, he brought his hands to my shoulders, slid them down my tingling spine and into my panties. Although I knew nothing about this man, I felt oddly trusting and expectant. This is a man, I thought. A man used to taking charge. A man not used to taking No for an answer. A man who would tell me what he wanted. A man who would look into my soul and say . . . .
Okay ma'am, you may board your flight now.
"Look for that Union label..."
Of course they did.
This is not the first time that the TSA's pat-downs of passengers have come under fire, nor the first time that the agency has rallied behind its officers and policy.
The moral of the story: "Shut up and take, sheep. We are your God, GOVERNMENT, and we can do no wrong."
I am fast learning to despise my own country. We are pathetic.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Boycotting sounds good, but it may just be what the regime is trying to achieve...
I was sent this via email just yesterday. it’s something to think about.

These people cannot out-smart terrorists because they’re complete idiots. Giving them uniforms just makes them stupider. End the TSA now.
And while they are checking Great Grandma’s drawers, the Department of Homeland Scrutiny is busy dismissing as many cases as possible against illegal aliens.
This is just madness....
Someone elect me president or get me into a position of power. I promise on forfeit of my life I will jail everyone idiot even close to being involved and definitely everyone in a TSA management position. And keep them there for the rest of their lives.
Then the procedures are broken and need to be changed.
Not in Obamaland.
I’d bring in some Chicom prison guards to mete out the criticism.
