TSA stands by officers after pat-down of elderly woman in Florida (Forced to remove underpants)

The Transportation Security Administration stood by its security officers Sunday after a Florida woman complained that her cancer-stricken, 95-year-old mother was patted down and forced to remove her adult diaper while going through security.

Reports of the incident took hold in social media, with scores of comments on the topic and reposts appearing hourly on Twitter Sunday afternoon.

The TSA released a statement Sunday defending its agents' actions at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.

"While every person and item must be screened before entering the secure boarding area, TSA works with passengers to resolve security alarms in a respectful and sensitive manner," the federal agency said. "We have reviewed the circumstances involving this screening and determined that our officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure."

Jean Weber told CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on Sunday that the security officers may have been procedurally correct, but she still does not believe they were justified, especially given her mother's frail condition.

By gosh, yes there is. But when you enter an airpot’s property, you “voluntarily” surrender each and e every right known to man. You are presumed guilty until the full body cavity search says you aren’t. (Don’t know if a sarcasm tag is needed here or not) .

It’s actions like this coming from the TSA that has convinced me we are lost as a nation.

I can name a few more but why. This in itself is exactly as you stated. We have lost this great nation - no ands ifs or buts.

They just get off on harassing people they know aren't security threats. And they do it because they know they can. ....without any repercussions. Real security is the very last of their concerns. That job is attracting some serious sickos right now.

There is a day in the not so far future that sanity will be restored to our government by “we the people.

These anus orifice’s of the Left would do well for themselves to start thinking about tomorrow.

This woman was leukopenic from leukemia.

This was an attempted public execution of
an elderly white woman by the TSA.

Of COURSE they’re going to stand by it...to suggest that it was WRONG to search any particular passenger would be admitting that there is actually a situation where a person had a right to privacy.

And that’s not the agenda. The agenda is to get us used to the idea that government knows best in all cases, and has the right to act as it sees fit.

I guarantee that there will never be a case where the TSA comes out and says, “Hey, we messed up”, or even “Our employee acted outside our guidelines”.

To do so would be giving up some of their power.

It would be much more cost effective to hand everyone boarding the plane a lead pipe, with instructions to beat the living hell out of anyone who says Allah Akbar.

“This TSA situation is totally out of control. It’s become a pretext to institute an intrusive search procedures agenda on American citizens rather than to protect Americans from terrorists.”

The silence from the GOP tells me that they approve.

"Arrest them. Bring them downtown, book them, and hold them in a cell overnight. I think they would just find the whole experience discouraging.

I'm sure the TSA molestation team would be okay with that as long as the local police "officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure".

Yet Janet Incompitano won't allow searches of airline passengers who fit the terrorist profile because that would be profiling and CAIR would go nuts.

The problem is lawyers!
Profiling works, the Israelis do it.
However the minute will try it the “permanently oppressed and outraged “ will hire armies of lawyers to prevent a workable screening policy to put in place. (It also has the side effect of putting cash in the pockets of lawyers!)

The old girl is terminally ill and has just a short time left in this world.

She was visiting her daughter one last time and had to spend those last precious minutes with her loved ones, dealing this this kind of nonsense.

Because she was in a wheelchair they have to do a differnt kind of search. When they notices her adult diaper they gave her the option of removing it, or not flying.

I hope they all rot in Hell for what they’re doing to good Americans.

I’ll not fly again.

No big deal for me, I’ve only used the airlines 3 times in my life.

Screw ‘em. I like to drive.

Arrest them and strip search them for 45 minutes, even doing invasive search of body cavities--with several people in the room. See how they like it.

Would have served them right if the 95 year old, stressed as she probably was, had peed and defecated on the searchers--only it would have embarrassed her more than them.

These people are shameless. They are the living definition of taking a tiny bit of power and extrapolating it in order to dictate to everyone.

I no longer even contemplate flying.
