Rick Perry:
1. He has done his best to sell Texas' private land to Foreign interests for the I-35 Corridor project which is sometimes called the NAFTA Super highway.
2. He also forced Texas teenage girls, by "Executive Order" to get the HPV vaccine.
3. He supports the IPPF ( International Planned Parenthood Federation). He received much praise from the Democrats for this action, and was demonized by the states Republicans for that choice.
4. Perry also receive a BIG THANK YOU from the Mexican President Vicente Fox for his "Sanctuary Citys" and giving Illegal Immigrants FREE instate tuition to Texas Universities. http://www.youtube.com/watch?f... .
So, If you want to compare Texas to the nation in the 2012 Election (because Texas is a success story right now), then run a TRUE Conservative who is the most powerful person in Texas politics, the Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst.
The only reason Rick Perry stays in office is because Texas is a Red State and he never has a strong opponent.
I'm sure you are.
He is just George W. Bush lite.
GWB was pretty much on the right side of the Republican party establishment. Romney is right smack in the middle of it.
We are the RINOs.
I think too many suffer from FWS - Flavor of the Week Syndrome. This leads freepers to jump out of their chairs and hail some so-and-so medoicre hack as the great conservative hope because that person gave some speech nationally the other day filled with red meat for a conservative audience. The freepers suffering from FWS instantly proclaim this person is the "only one with the guts to take on Obama", and "will destroy Obama in a debate", plus they vouch for so-and-so mediocre hack as a solid principled conservative despite YEARS of conservatives seeing otherwise from the guy. A month or two ago we had Donald Trump groupies poping up all over here because of FWS, now it's Rick Perry groupies.
No, he’s the lastest push by the moderate wing when they found out Mitt, Huntsman, Pawlenty, Gingrich, etc, wouldn’t fly..
Bachmann looks like our champion after Herman Cain quietly botched some post-debate questions...
In your post 44 you said:
“As a Conservative Texan, I think Perry would be no better than Obama.”
NO conservative would equate Perry with Obama. Real conservatives would vote for Elmer Fudd — as Rush phrased it — before they would want Obama to get reelected. BTW Rush also said Perry is his dream candidate.

Well, I guess I haven’t gotten the updated memo for what I should be for/against as a Conservative.
The time I vote for “anyone” because they aren’t a democrat is over. Time and time again I’ve done that only to see the GOP either do nothing, or make things worse. So for ME, I’ll vote Tea Party types, or I’ll vote 3rd party. The GOP has done nothing to earn my vote the past decade or so.
As for what Rush thinks, I could care less. I don’t look to anyone to decide who I should like, I’m a big boy, and can think all on my own.
As an added bonus, I’ll tell you who I DO like. Palin, Bachmann, Cain, West, JC Watts, Alan Keyes, Ron Paul.
No, because Rick Perry is not a Conservative. He does have purdy hair though.
Had that conversation recently...over 150 channels and nothing worth watching.
Oh really? Then why hasn't Rick Perry called upon the Texas legislature to send him a strong, bulletproof anti-illegal immigration bill during his ten years as governor?
Why did he call Arizona's tough immigration bill, "Wrong for Texas"?
In the latest legislative session there were several good immigration bills that were allowed to die without a single one of them ever making it to the floor of the House for a vote. Perry knew about these bills, because the Texas Tea Parties barraged his office for months, demanding that he call for one of them to get to his desk. Do you think he ever did?
Short, sweet, and powerful (kinda like Sarah). Well said.
"Nasty, lying posts..."
I know it must hurt to hear some of the things Texas Freepers are saying about Perry, but they're not lying about him. Sure, some throw a bit of ad hominem into the mix, but overall, what people are telling you about Perry is factual.
I've voted for the man twice, but each time I did, it was because there wasn't a real conservative in the race. In 2012, we simply have to do better than "good enough". We need a president with the guts and determination to lead this nation back from the brink of oblivion.
Perry is not that person.
I don't think he'd get away with any of this crap as President. This is a different day. If we could stop President Bush from putting one of his personal friends on The Supreme Court then we should be able to stop President Perry from inflicting any idiotic ideas on The United States.
Especially if we hold The House.
But maybe we should win The Senate, too, just to be safe.
I didn’t want Bush. Why would I want another connected Texas spoiled brat who answers to the big money and not the people?
I was going to thank you after I saw it last night. One of my brothers bought some copies and is passing them around. Yes, it’s all been going into place for years. The New World Order/One World Government is impossible as long as the USA is strong.
I blame George Bush for not exposing 0bama.
I didn’t call Perry a RINO. Some of his positions are extremely disturbing to me, however. The IPPF is one of the most corrupt, racist, elitist organizations on earth. His support of them makes me suspicious. I need to know much more. On the surface, I don’t think he comes close to Palin. Right now, she is my yardstick by which I measure other candidates. And Ronald Reagan, of course. Bob
Yes, for me the “GOAL IS BEAT OBAMA” as well, with someone who will make a dramatic, substantive difference. Palin/Rubio ‘12!!
Governor Perry has just pushed into the senate SB9 which answers all of your concerns for the illegal situation in Texas. This bill is causing protests from Latino civil rights groups and the usual condemnation from liberals in Texas.
. Michael Reagan praises Perry:
If you dont believe Reaganomics can still work in this day and age, for whatever reason, I say you should look no further than the state of Texas.
Under the leadership of Gov. Rick Perry, Texas has championed and built upon the concepts my father used to rebuild America in the 1980s..
In short, Reagan Revolution is alive and well - deep in the heart of Texas.

Nice to see that word “Reaganomics” again :-)
Is that so? And what exactly does SB9 accomplish?
If it's what you're trying to insinuate, I have to ask, WHY NOW, RICK?
He's had ten long years to do something about the horde pouring across our southern border, and he finally steps up the plate on the very eve of announcing his presidential ambitions?
Sounds like the same old Rick to me. He always 'gets religion' right around election time.
It may have been a matter of timing. He may have wanted to wait after being reelected to start legislation on the bill. It also may have been the result of many months of hard work to get it right. However, you may relate to it like this, that like fine wine, it was not ready until it’s time.
