In a pinch, half of U.S. families can’t find $2,000
Dayton Daily News ^ | 06-12-11 | Mark Fisher

Half of American families — including a growing portion of the country’s middle-class — would not be able to cope with an unexpected expense that required them to come up with $2,000 within 30 days according to a study that illustrates both the fragile nature of family finances and the depth of the nation’s financial crisis.

"Soon we here in California shall be taxed based on Neighborhood watch groupings.

What sort of tax? For what reason? Just wondering.

Not to make fun of the death of American prosperity, but there is always Ebay. My advise to Americans who can’t find $2000 in a pinch is get out of debt, and once out of it, stay out. I bet most of those Americans who can’t get $2000 in a pinch have large screen TVs, computers, cell phones, nice cars, nice furniture, nice homes, apartments, and monthly payments they can’t afford. If they really want a money pit to eat up their spare cash, let them get a boat.

I hear you.

I was born raised and and growing old here , but I am done.

California cannot be repaired.

The DNC is entrenched in everything from dog catcher on up .

Their need to buy votes continues to kill California.

The liberal philosophy sis weak and requires steep discounts and Coupons to sell.

Discounts and Coupons = vote buys.

Thx for the rest of the story;)

(I knew there had to be more ‘free stuff’).

#12 The 111th Congress got us into so much new debt that it breaks down to $10,429.64 for each of the 308,745,538 people counted by the 2010 U.S. census.

If all six billion people on Earth moved to Texas they’d have several acres apiece. No problemo... LOL

It would have to be one time emergency, but I could sell the little bit of jewelry I have. I could come close to $2K, hould the need arise.

Still, they are a dammned sight better than the rest of the country. THAT is what is frightening this native Texan.

Texas is only big enough to be parted out to all Americans at a half acre each.

Area of Texas is 268,581 square miles. Assuming 6 billion people, that’s 22,340 per square mile; this means each person gets 1248 square feet, which is about the size of a respectable apartment. So, yes, you could fit everyone in the world somewhat comfortably in Texas.

6-18 months from now 1/2 of Americans won’t be able to come up with $500-$1,000 for a loaf of bread .
There.Fixed it.

That's the key point showing the pathetic situation we're in.

Like an economic maniac, Obama's Fed is relentlessly creating billions of new dollars out of thin air, making the buck about worthless.

And 1/2 of Americans can't gather 2000 of these little currency feathers into a small pile on the kitchen table?
--in a month?

We're looking right into the abyss, thanks to the insanity in Washingon D.C.
