I just read this a.m. that the good folk of Queens were cheering him as he strolled around (hopefully in a non-tumescent state, but maybe his Viagra hadn’t worn off and all the chicks loved seeing his dirty undies with their pathetic bulge).
Mark my words, he’s a hero to the Dems and he won’t quit or be removed. He may be redistricted out, but I wouldn’t even count on that.

Rangel is still representing New York in Congress; his constituency gave him an overwhelming mandate to continue service after strong evidence of various types of money fraud. If NY9 survives, then it is likely that Weiner will get a similar electoral nod.
I think because of the Obama style tie that’s offensive. ; )
He won't resign and if he loses the election in 2012 he will sue all the way up to the supreme court. He is the quintessential democrat and a poster boy for what's wrong for Washington.

Ah, the remaining few moralists in New York are calling for Weiner to resign. Sorry, but there are way too many feeding at the government trough to allow this to happen.
Politics today has little to do with anything except “What can you do for me?”, and so we will continue to elect crooks and liars to keep the gravy flowing. Democracy by the people only works when the moral folks outnumber the immoral folks. When the scales tip and the immoral people can vote themselves largess...then yes, the US is doomed to become just another banana Republic.
I know. It’s incredible that Rangel survived, but obviously NYC Dems don’t care.
I remember that when Al Sharpton was charged with tax evasion because he was taking money given to his “church” and spending it on tacky Caddies and bling, the government lost the case because virtually all of the witnesses (mostly impoverished little black grannies) said that they knew he was spending it on himself but that was ok because he was a black preacher and they thought he deserved it.
What passes for a mind among Dems is a little hard to fathom.
