Went to a Wounded Warriors Event in Eldorado Hills California today. Mathew Taylor and Brad Shuder. One was a cousin, the other was a friend. KIA. Hard to see the pain in the faces of the old timers. But am honest to God glad that NO one ever forgets the sacrifices of our men and Women.
God Bless them All... always.

God bless all those who have died in the service of their country. There are no adequate words to express our gratitude.

God bless the United States of America.

Thanks to all who have served, all who are serving and all who will serve in the future. America’s finest.

(thanks to their families and friends, also)

of course, its not just national cemeteries that have the flags planted for the veterans.

My veteran relatives are buried in regular sections of Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh, and they have flags as well.

I wonder how they are able to get the flags at all the veterans graves, even those that have regular commercial headstones?

Thanks for posting that! Pictures like that just stop my heart and really make me THINK of those that have gone before me.

Putting up a fresh flag tomorrow AM. The current one is a little ragged due to the horrible storms/winds we’re had through here - but I always keep a spare on hand!

God Bless America. (Please?)

I had to send an email yesterday morning to all my clients. I included this poem at the bottom:

Whenever I see a soldier boy
No matter where it be
I give him salutation
for he means so much to me

He’s not the boy we used to know
In store, at desk or plow
He’s a defender of our faith
He’s in the service now

He keeps Old Glory flying
on land and air and sea
He lives to make our homes secure
He dies to keep us free.

Remember on Monday....Flags at half-staff until noon, then full staff.

Every time I start to lose faith in this country, I meet some of the outstanding people wearing the uniform of our country and my faith is restored. God bless you all past and present. May we never forget those who gave all that they had or ever would be.

Here is why Europe should always respect the U.S. (but often does not).

American Battle Monuments Commission

Just look at some of the cemeteries scattered there.

Wife is helping with 25,000 flags this weekend. I’ll be flying mine here at our camp tomorrow. No beers and no brats. Chicken and rice again.

Visited Pop [WW II] and Mom at Calverton Friday. The staff was engaged in a massive tidy up for the weekend, and the place already looked beautiful.
