"In a press conference Tuesday, the Texas governor notably declined to "rule out" a White House bid, amid calls from Rush Limbaugh and others that he should enter the 2012 race."

Pardon for repeating myself from another thread, but Perry can beat Romney and can beat Obama. If Perry is not in the race, Romney walks away with the nomination, then loses big to Obama -- in my opinion, of course, but also common sense would indicate that these are the two most plausible scenarios.
Perry or Romney
And Perry or Obama.
There are other scenarios...
I don’t know much about Perry. Is he a Constitutional Conservative or just another big government conservative?
You're not from Texas, are you?
born March 4, 1950 in Paint Creek, TX (Meets the Jus Soli Requirement)
Parents were
Joseph Ray Perry born 1925 in TX
Amelia June Holt born 1928/9 in TX
Both parents were US Citizens at the time of his birth (Meets the Jus Sanguinis Requirement)
Rick Perry is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN unlike Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama.
Those who squeal “RINO” at everything moving believe 90% of the party is RINO and generally are the Lovers of Losers whose favorites are either: A) unknowns; B) amateurs; C) both; D) so far to the Right that they won’t get more than 2% of the votes in a general election.
Come on in Rick, the water’s fine. Besides every additional name on the ballot makes it easier for Sarah to win since it makes her cadre of devoted supporters more important. No other candidate has as many devoted to them.
Perry is a Politician. First and foremost.
If I had to describe him, I'd say that he's a RINO who will do the right thing when enough conservatives twist his arm to the breaking point.
The rest of the time, he talks real good. He's got good hair, too.
I am fed up with then overused Rhino cliche smear with no facts behind the claims !
Nobody will vote for Romney in the primarys..
He's the NEW McLAme.. the NEW Graham.. the new some other RINO..
The primary will be won by whoever the TpCaucus selects..
2010 was just rehearsal.. 2012 will be the main event..
Its MAY and many have forgotten Nov. 2010..
Multi millions have not forgotten..
AND the TpCaucus IS GROWING........... GROWING.......
Noticed how Obama has SHUT UP ABOUT the TpCaucus?..
THEY KNOW... (in the White Hut) the TpCaucus is the 900 lb GORILLA... ugh.. Grizzly..
I would vote for Perry over anybody else that is in now. I do agree he is a politician but he does the right thing more often than most politicians do.
I can't see a single quality Perry would add to the existing 2012 field. As for the existing 2012 choices, he's actually sort of a hybred of Romney (good looks, smooth talker, flip-flopper ex-liberal) and Pawlenty (boring, dry, somewhat acceptable right-of-center record), although both of them have won in RAT states and all Perry has proven is he can win in a heavily GOP state with an "R" next to his name when he has weak "opponents". Maybe he'll draw votes from both of them and split the establishment GOP vote more.
Now if we can only recruit a GOOD reliable conservative with little baggage and a track record of beating tough RATs to run for President. I have yet to see any emerge.
That’s all we need toll roads all over the country.
I agree .
The rhino smears are overused and gotten tired.
The goal is to defeat the Soros puppet before he kills off the US and the West including Israel.
Flip flopper....../sarc.
Sure he does - when we're watching him like a hawk and raising holy hell over an issue. He's not a reliable conservative.
That said, I'd rather deal with twisting his arm and getting results over the next four years, than watch Obama continue to dismantle what's left of our country.
Hopefully, Sarah will step in and walk away with the election, and I won't have to bother with either of those scenarios.
Well, Perry is a very mixed bag. Good on life, 2nd Amendment, opposing Obamacare; terrible on immigration; not really tough on spending; he’s been sodomite friendly; he signed the gross revenues tax. On balance, better than McCain, but not all that much.
Bingo. You are right on that. At least 56 of the 57 states are not Texas from my count. When you factor in Perry as a well spoken, good looking guy from a one of the few states doing well in this recession, he will be acceptable in mildly Conservative places and even in PA or OH.
I don't think this guy should be summarily dismissed for being soft here and there. Everyone else is who is running or thinking of it has a hole here or there. This guys greatest asset is keeping TX strong in this disaster of an economy. Not a bad thing running against Myth and then Obummer.
Rick Perry has been on stage next to Sarah Palin at a fundraiser she did for him that attracted thousands. He knows there is no way he can compete. She runs. He endorses.
Now for VP, Perry is a possibility.
Toll roads are no big deal.
The only to build road so quickly in boom states is toll roads.
Feel free to take the overcrowded free roads .
“ toll roads “is your big complaint about Perry.
