While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
The right stuff!
Meow...
Lucky you:) Bitter clingers down here too:) Take my word for it, Teh Won really "stepped in it" down here when he decreed that Israel should go back to the '67 borders and "defend itself, by itself." Did he think we're known as the Bible Belt for no nuthin'?! The muzzie-lovin' Putz-in-Chief has stirred a hornets nest 'round these parts. We don't take kindly to anyone messin' with Jews or Israel. Period. Yes, down here it's about religion when it comes to the Jews and Israel, but it's also about HONOR! WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
God Bless America and God Bless Israel!
Amen!
ROFL !!!
The hair ... that was because it was so windy there when they arrived that her hairdo went all kerflooey.
AMEN! I believe that the polls these crooks live by are telling them that the South and ALL red-blooded Americans have had more than enough! Time for the mussie-lovin' commie's to exit the stage. One way or another, they're outta there!
Sometimes I think it will be the Texans that lead the way out of this disaster:)
Great post thank you so much Starwise. I just love Bibi and respect him so much!!
Ya know, I was trying to play devil’s advocate and come up with something ... but ..
but .. I JUST CAN’T... LOL
Well, we ARE used to leading around here! :)
We’ll all stand together against the ones who are trying to
bring us down! T’row da bums out! :)
MOST welcome .. ;)
Was Boehner drinking?
I might have to watch his segment of the video!!!
I don’t KNOW that I’m right. That’s just my assessment based on the rest of the speech
Hannity, on his radio program, was claiming that the organizers for AIPAC made a strong request to it’s members to NOT boo Obozo during his speech.
Well, they sure paid attention then, because they applauded, although I don’t think it was the type of applause he’s used to. Certainly not the screams and cheers he received in Ireland today. That was downright SICKENING.
Is there a Netanyahu ping list?
Not just Keaggy. Your choice of music.
(I was doing the same thing earlier this evening.)
Cheers!
There’s nothing that could make me compromise my principles to cheer that moron.
Me neither. I would stand up to turn my back on him.
Couldn’t agree more.
Obama has already started snubbing Jewish groups in favor of the Soros funded “liberal answer to AIPAC”, the anti-Israel JStreet.
Plus, at this point, there won’t be an Israel to lobby for if they don’t recognize the drastic climate, and act on it.
