While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
And now Jewish Americans will send their dollars to the Obama campaign! Wish that was sarcastic!
I have to say it: From your lips to God’s ear!
Thank you!
Thanks. I wanted an answer, too. I’m PST so my alarm clock is set.
If only Israel didn’t need him so badly..................
It isn't just you, the bodyguards are laser focused. I suspect it is second nature to them. I also can't help but believe that even though they are so aware of the dangers, that they know we have their backs. Americans will NOT stand for Israel being "thrown to the wolves." We've got their backs. I know MANY who have sent words of support to Bibi and the Israelis.
Mentioned Reid as someone he loves. Gay freedom junk, just stuff like that.
I just figure he feels a need to say these things as he remains a guest here and he and his country needs support from ALL of us.
Just know this... I support the heck out of that guy and his people.
The Leprechauns are busy making an Hawaii birth certificate for Bibi
They met Barry in Moneygall and agreed to help
To know Barry is to run
Did you get that remote from your husband?
Mine gladly watched Bibi with me!!!
Welcome, sweetie .. ;) Yoni (who I think is Jonathan)
was SO handsome .. hero commando.
Two great leaders anointed by God to lead in the pursuit of freedom.
For such a time as this.
AMEN!
He’s more American than the Marxist in DC!
I don't either:) Can't wait to see Bibi and Sarah present a unified "force to be respected" to the world!
I’m very much on the right thread. You need to learn how to read.
No...but I am enjoying the thread. And it’s almost like watching! :)
Thank you!
Oh yes! Much more American!!!
Israel knows the time is coming where it will have to go it without the US. They are prepared for that...and remarkably I am getting more accustomed to the idea because God did say Israel was one time too dependant on Egypt rather than Him.
When the time comes it will be Israel without the USA...but Israel will not be alone by any means... and the whole world will see that God alone will see to Israel...and there will be no mistake about it.
Thanks!
