While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
Bwahaha.
How convenient for Obama to be out of town.
(Was that a heckler being shouted down?)
Bibi: Our eternal capital, the united city of Jerusalem!”
Take that O’bama.
Some kind of disturbance off camera—to speaker’s right. Over now.
The Won can't be bothered. He's been busy seeking out his Irish "roots."
Our eternal capital, Jerusalem. Love it.
Israel is the only state where Christians can practice their faith
I think the reason for the body guard is BiBi is making a subtle statement to Obama....hint hint...that Israel does not exactly trust Bo anymore.
Yes. The phony is drinking beer exploring his own navel and being chased by volcano smoke.
But watching Bibi...this is history in the making
And bringing the crowd to their feet!
Bibi “I want to take the opportunity to thank Joe Lieberman—unbelievably dedicated to Israel.”
OK, Bibi, I’ll give Sore Loserman a pass, only for you.
There was definitely some kind of disturbance in the crowd. Bibi had to wait for it to settle down.
Wish he was our president.
Amen to that!!
The Prime Minister is a great speaker. Love listening to him. Wish he was our president.
I lost the stream
Did something happen ???
I got it back
Where can I view the live stream of this..I checked fox news but they are not broadcasting it
Rush is trying to get Bibi a Hawaiian birth certificate, so he can run ;)
