While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
Leave it to STARWISE to lift our hearts!!!!! Clap clap clap!!!!
If the bottom lip starts quivering, it’s all over for Weeper.
Man, it’s disgusting.
You know what they say ... Liberals first, Jews second.
They sound like they're warming a bit.
hot damn it folk
if there was ever a time to cry for
Israel...it is now and I’m not Jewish
“It takes me 20 minutes to post what ought to take 2 seconds.”
your post; roflol; I can identify; going through something similar (but no baby to blame/excuse).
Glad you are here! Thanks for the links!
They dont want to scare him ???
Dear Bahbah.
I have a feeling she was somewhere smiling when Bibi took Obama to school last week.
Yep....and I hope our guys will step up to the plate and show them what for when BiBi goes to Congress....
I think BiBi will have a good speech...but he’s not going to waste the good stuff on this audiance...or show his hand too soon.
OH MY...
Just BEAUTIFUL!
You called it.
Hold you head high and proud! Those Jews are no different from our cafeteria Catholics that vote for pro-abortion CINO politicians! The shame and disgrace belong to THEM.
It’d be great if Boehner would move it along and make it quick. It’s getting late on the EC.
“if there was ever a time to cry for
Israel...it is now and Im not Jewish”
Seriously. Where is the sense of urgency or panic? If there’s no fire now, no tears, and emotion...then when?!
Man, our politicians are straight up empty suits. Harry droning on like his past decisions and Israel never happened; Mr. Speaker sounding like he’s ready to start hiccups (I swear, this dude is a lush)..Its embarrassing.
Uh John - we’re seeing women and religious minorities oppressed right now - in EGYPT!
They haven’t learned a thing and I will no longer give them the benefit of the doubt....they pretty much did me in on that before...but now...nope am done waiting for them to “wake up”....
I hope he sets it straight though and hopefully it will be soon tonight. Geez, it’s taking forever.
