As Flaglady outlined in post # 161, I, too, am in a Chicago suburb. I lived for 20 years in Villa Park where one of the first suburban mosques was built a couple decades ago on the grounds of a square-block, torn-down grade school smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood.
The building of these fortress-like, Sharia-centered mosques in multitudinous other Chicago suburbs, north, west and east of the city, has continued apace over several decades now....accelerating at the present time....with tons of money pouring in from somewhere (Saudis?) to build them.
I can attest to everything Flaglady stated even as you seem to get a barrel of laughs out of all the aggressive building programs of the muslims, seemingly everywhere now, causing alarm and flight from long-time stable communities.
The situations in many suburbs is getting to be a matter of great worry....with neighbors and whole neighborhoods concerned about plummeting property values (more than they're plummeting, anyhow), as the reclusive, non-assimilating Middle Eastern and African muslims pour in.
Melas, you're insulting in your efforts to be SO witty, cool, dismissive, superior and cutting to another freeper and to many of us by extension in your comments about a widespread situation that you're not experiencing first-hand.
You probably have no objection to the Ground Zero mosque either....describing any objectors to its construction as tin-foil-hat chickens and comedic secret-service types which you apparently seem to think that USNRet is.
You owe thanks and an apology to this vet who posted to describe his experiences and who thought he'd help to keep all of us informed on what's happening in his neighborhood.
THINK and be aware, man....the same thing is happening in my neighborhood, Flaglady's neighborhood....and maybe very, very soon, will be occuring in YOUR neighborhood.

Of course Saudis -- check if these are Wahabbi or Sunni mosques (it's easier to ask if they are Sunni. chances are that if it is Sunni, it's sponsored by the SAuds and is extremist.
other Moslems like Sufis are less dangerous.
When I lived next door to some Palis, it happened. If they had a big get together, we knew something was going to happen over in Israel soon. I always suspected they were raising money.

See post #165. I live 3 miles from one of the biggest, richest, most corrupt mosques in the nation. Surely you've heard of it. The Dallas Central Mosque, home of the Holy Land Foundation that was caught sending money to Hamas.
Just down the road is the Brighter Horizons Academy. While having a shiny American sounding name, it's a madrassa ran by the Islamic Services Foundation.
So please, spare me the condescension that you accuse me of displaying.
