It’s as genuine as the Vince Foster suicide note.

Thus spake Fox News, the “fair and balanced network.” I didn’t read the rest. Did they give anyone else a crack at this “expert’s” analysis?

Interesting as other experts are saying it is fake. I am going with them because I just can’t trust any man named Jean-Claude.

Well isn't that cute.

Less than 60 seconds ago my formerly Obama loving son came home from work. He opened the door and said, "I agree with you." (He triumphantly sent me an email whenever the thing was released. At first, I told him I was withholding judgment; and then later, when I decided it was bogus, I let him know.) So I asked him, "About what?"

"The birth certificate. It's all over YouTube," he told me.

And maybe it is. I still think that Obama is going to be able to make this thing stick. (The flaws are no where near as obvious (yet) as with the Dan Rather memo.) But maybe I'm wrong.

Ok, so if one of us serfs were to submit a document to the government in the same condition, do you think it would be considered legitimate?

I would like this to be done with. The release(s) did not do it.

Hey, Tremblay stooge. You scan it and then save it as a PDF document. It is basic stuff. None of this “optimizing” the image nonsense, or messing around with it.

The same BS OCR explanation that nobody seems to demonstrate on video.

Anyone have a video of the demonstration of OCR?

Tremblay explained that the scanner optical character recognition (OCR) software attempts to translate characters or words in a photograph into text. He said the layers cited by the doubters shows that software at work – and nothing more.

BS! I unzipped the document that appeared to be printed on security paper. There was NO text in the .pdf. It appeared to be all graphic files to me. I have worked with text converted to .pdf and if that is what the output of OCR software is, this is not text.

Now, the layers thing to me seems unimportant. The forgery, if there is one, happened before it was scanned by the recipients who received it from the HI Dept. of Health. The document printed on white paper seemed a lot more credible to me, but there is no way of knowing how it was manipulated before the Dept. of Health printed it. Once in printed format, there is no way to trace any changes to the document.

None of this matters. That “thing” uploaded the other day for the world to see isn’t a legally binding document. It has no electronic pedigree, and came from the very people who would be harmed the most through a factual disclosure. When Fox News examines a dead-tree version Fed-EX’d by the Hawaii dept of Vital Statistics, and it bears all the stamps, and signatures which attest to its authenticity under pain of fines or imprisonment, ping me.

My theory. They did this weird scan on purpose to get the skeptics to continue on, while pulling the majority back to their side. The goal? To make the skeptics look nuts. This issue spun out of control for the White House in recent weeks and they needed to repaint the ‘birthers’ as nutty and subsequently try to paint the whole GOP a nuts, too. This whole thing backfired in recent weeks as the majority of voters started considering this an issue.

Wow, someone correct me here, but doesn’t an OCR function to read characters in an image to make them text?

And isn’t a icture scanned as a rastor image or a vector image, NOT ocr?

Is he saying they scanned the image as an OCR scanner but STILL had vector and rastor images in the final result?

I am sorry, but the twists and turns people go through to defend the boviously wrong things...
