I was reading about Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) after seeing various threads. TBI on its own can cause immediate siezures in moderate to extreme injuries. (The girl had been kicked in the head several times.) TBI can induce an epilectic siezure for those with epilepsy. Siezures are more common with TBI if the person is intoxicated as well.

So who knows.
