Miki Booth has just reported via telephone to The Post & Email that a man born and currently residing in Hawaii went to the Department of Health this morning and requested a copy of his long-form birth certificate. He was refused, told that it was no longer available and that all he could obtain is the short-form document.
The man had obtained his short-form “Certificate of Live Birth” several weeks ago and reported to Miki that the request form had had two different boxes which could be checked: one indicating that the short-form was being requested and the other that the long-form was desired.
Today, the man reported that the form has been changed such that that choice is no longer available.
Therefore, when Dr. Chiyome Fukino spoke with MSNBC on Monday morning, she apparently was not lying when she said that long-form birth certificates are no longer available.
But why was that change made? Who ordered the change in policy? Was it made because Donald Trump has demanded that Obama release his original, detailed birth certificate to support his claim of a Hawaii birth?
The witness who accompanied the gentleman has a daughter who obtained a copy of her long-form birth certificate last month. The document was provided to Miki Booth, who supplied it to The Post & Email here.

Yes, I have that information on mine. Mine is called “Certificate of Birth” which I assumed meant a legitimate birth certificate. And you’re right — you don’t get an original — it’s just a stamped, sealed copy.
Anyway, I don’t know about passports, but for the business I needed the certificate for, mine was accepted.

Getting a Driver’s License they asked me for my BC.
I just said, “Its OK, I’m from Hawaii. I don’t need one.”
“I’ll just tell you where I was born and when and whom my parents are. That will be good enough. Right?”
I was shown the door and was yelled at about wasting everyone’s time.

You know, when you want a controversy stop, you usually don’t go and do things that make it worse.
Hawaiins will no longer be able to get first-time passports then. The documentations required must have the parents and their birth places listed (mainly for identity reasons). So now the State Department is going to have to change THEIR rules to accept these worthless mementos.

My parents had mine until I was old enough to need it, then they gave it to me. I always assumed that just about everyone had theirs.
I believe that Obama mentioned having his Birth Certificate in the book that he "wrote", and it obviously would not have the the computer-generated short form that was released in time for the election.
I thought that I had lost mine a few years ago (turned out to be misplaced) and I ordered a replacement, which was a photocopy of the original handwritten document. My Mother warned me that I would need it to (among other things) apply for Social Security.
If you don't have yours, you should probably get it, before the government shreds them all!

Hawaii is going to RESIST giving them out! BET on that. However, they HAVE to provide any and ALL records they have to the person to whom they belong. That is the LAW. Fukino, Onaka, NO ONE can change that law other than the legislature.
When PRESSED and the Law is quoted to them, you bet your ASS they will copy out the long form and Certify it as well.
I may be mistaken but the short form may not get you a drivers license in some states.
My COLB was used to get my passport.
