5 guys just moved into town which is better In-N-Out Burgers or Five Guys?
From what I hear 5 Guys is better but for fries, shakes, burger taste and prices. What say you all.
Chico’s Tacos in El Paso is the best fast/drunk food you will ever have... bar none. It’s a legend.
5 Guys IMHO sucks. Sorry.
Tops. Same food, much, much lower price, as well as not having to leave the car (I like pesky drive-throughs). Then to the little residential park on a small bay—unlike the very noisy interior of the 5 Guys place.
We have both here in Houston.
Five Guys all over Nashville overrated
From my time in Los Angeles id say Fat Burger
best burger ever:
Branch's grocery in Sidon Mississippi.....in the Delta...chubby old black women.. in red aprons..handpatted....skillet cooked....dressed. with pickles..dill of course..sweet are for dogs....then raw white onion ...mustard..mayo...tomato..no..ketchup..salt...pepper...buttered and grilled...Sunbeam bread bun..dripping and wrapped in brown butcher paper
Best burger in my life ever...perfect after duck hunting and a fatty...sweet tea of course
Never heard of either one.

You have not missed much. They are both travesties of old school diner burgers. Partly for health code reasons. Thin patties which are overcooked. Every Five Guys I have been in is noisy too. Some people like that racket though.
I eat both but prefer Krystal by a hair..they have great sweet tea and when I was young they served counter style with waitresses breakfast all night too
Anyone here know Milos ??? ....a Bama chain with secret sauce and good fries
We hit it on the way to Sea Side a lot my boys crave it..they market their sweet tea
Too many nuts in Five Guys right?
Lol! Forgot those!
My problem is that the stack of two overcooked patties does NOT equal a nice thick medium rare patty. I understand why they do it that way, but it just doesn’t work.
5 guys 6 miles from us here in Florida burgers are real good and when ordering fries the small order is enough for 2 people believe me.
First of all thank you for the courtesy ping. That's something that used to be common on FR but no longer is.
While I wouldn't exactly agree with your description of my first statement to that guy, I will agree that I treated him pretty much like a Nimrod, which he was. I was not surprised or offended when he made a pretty snarky comment right back to me here on the thread. When he sent a "FU" (not abbreviated like I just did) to my FReepmail though he crossed a line.
Less specific to the incident with whats-his-face though was the reason for my original post to him. I get tired of people who come on light conversation threads to say something like, "I've never heard of them". If a FReeper has no opinion and nothing to offer, and they obviously aren't looking to learn something then they're still within their rights to show their butt in front of God and everybody. But the person shouldn't be surprised when somebody points out that they're a dumbazz.
I’m not going to read through all the replies, but if you could take 5 guys fries and in’n out burgers, pure heaven.
I never heard of either of the 2 this thread is about.
Back in the day, Brown’s on Canal St downtown Yazoo City had burgers along the lines of the ones you describe in Sidon. A LARGE and a small. The large lived up to it’s name not like the pictures Burger King and McDonalds have on the wall.
Saying that, the local owner is hispanic (white males can't get small business loans any more) and the two young black men working for him just quit. They told me he called them names, including the “N” word we are no longer to use for some reason.
I guess if you are another protected minority you can be racist, even to other protected minorities.
No shakes at 5 Guys. That’s a deal killer for me. When I go out for a good burger and fries, I want a shake.
We don’t have In-and-Out in Tampa. Five Guys is fair at best. The amount of fries you get with your order is ridiculous and wasteful.
The best burger in Tampa is the PC Burger with cheese with grilled onions at the Palma Ceia Golf & CC’s 19th Hole/Men’s Grill. And they come with a side of steak fries. But I have to go with a member to get one :-(
I like Jimmy John’s because you can get a sandwich wrapped in lettuce and I like that. I think they call it the unwich.
I can take or leave it, but I love tasting the delicious spite from the fact that LIBERALS HATE IT. :)
Close, both have something special going for them. For my tastes I would default to In-N-Out.
