5 guys just moved into town which is better In-N-Out Burgers or Five Guys?
From what I hear 5 Guys is better but for fries, shakes, burger taste and prices. What say you all.
White Castle under a different name. Porcelain seating is mandatory within 3-6 hours of consumption.
Their coffee is excellent, however.
I have learned with In-n-Out that you have to immediately eat the fries before the burger.
The fries are fresh and because of the oils they are using now (required by the state of cali and several other states) the fries will immediately start to suck in moisture from the air and get wrinkly while losing crispness.
Give them another try, but eat them when you can barely pick them up with your bare hands. If they aren’t that hot when they give them to you, they did it wrong, demand fresh fries.
Properly done In-n-Out Fries beat everyone elses we are discussing. In the good ol days these would have been fried in Lard and you wouldn’t have a problem.
In-n-Out is old.
Juicy Mess!
lol,
$12.95 is a big chunk of change for a burger
What is the price range for a 5 Guys?
Im not used to spending much on hamburgers. Id rather use the money to buy a steak if its over $5 - $6
“Of the two, gotta go with In n Out. But when I used to go to Los Angeles on business, my favorite was Tommys. “
Yep, Tommy’s is doing just fine and is still AWESOME.
Never eaten a White Castle burger sober.
5 guys definitely has a better burger, there’s no doubt about that. Their fries are fresh and handcut too, but not prepared very well, in my experience. Might be the oil they use to cook them in, but they are not very crispy and the flavor is lacking. Prices are crazy, even the drinks are riduculously priced. I’d say the burger is the only thing on the menu worth paying their prices for.
I’m also not a fan of the crushed up aluminum foil they wrap the burgers in. For the prices they charge, I would like a wrapper that won’t stick to the cheese and possibly leave bits of metal for me to bite down on while I’m eating.
Having said that, I will volunteer at work for ANY trips to CA for one reason: In-and-Out ! If there was some way to buy in bulk and ship back home, I would do it. The bean counters love it too... my daily's are pretty cheap because it's about the only think I eat for 5 days.
Tommy’s is alive and growing. I had a Tommy’s burger just a few days ago.
It is true they aren’t franchising it, they call it something else. They want to control it.
For lack of a better word, I used it.
They are changing, I have a relative that is working for them and they are going to go into a serious growth cycle.
Maybe you want to call it a profit sharing manager that buys in, I don’t know. But the bottom line is they realize that they have to have someone who is invested in their business like they are.
Yes. Some more locations but the Original is best. Tamale & Chile Yum!
The reason for XXX and Fatburgers being on my post together, is Fatburger is right across the street. Fatburger prices at the link.
That is Fat Burger’s strategy, they setup next to great burger houses.
“I could make the same thing on my webber.”
I think that’s the allure of 5 guys for most people. It’s not the same old pre-processed, pre-shaped, skimpy patties that every fast food place serves. There are not many places where you can get a good meaty, home-style burger in 5 minutes.
Good review, I don’t like the Alum in my cheese either.
The problem with the fries were they were so thick and the oil so hot, by the time you can eat it, the outside is soggy and the inside will still burn your tongue.
They're the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast.
wow, some people are really serious about their burgers.
lol
Best burger I’ve had here in Chicago outside of my own is from Ruby Tuesday.
