Obama and Ahmadinejad
Amir Taheri, 10.26.08, 01:33 PM EST
Iran’s president and mullahs are rooting for the Democrats.
Is Barack Obama the “promised warrior” coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world?
The question has made the rounds in Iran since last month, when a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century. The tradition comes from Bahar al-Anvar (meaning Oceans of Light) by Mullah Majlisi, a magnum opus in 132 volumes and the basis of modern Shiite Islam.
According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a “tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West.” Commanding “the strongest army on earth,” the new ruler in the West will carry “a clear sign” from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: “Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us.”
In a curious coincidence Obama’s first and second names—Barack Hussein—mean “the blessing of Hussein” in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means “he is with us,” the magic formula in Majlisi’s tradition.
Mystical reasons aside, the Khomeinist establishment sees Obama’s rise as another sign of the West’s decline and the triumph of Islam. Obama’s promise to seek unconditional talks with the Islamic Republic is cited as a sign that the U.S. is ready to admit defeat. Obama’s position could mean abandoning three resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council setting conditions that Iran should meet to avoid sanctions. Seeking unconditional talks with the Khomeinists also means an admission of moral equivalence between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic. It would imply an end to the description by the U.S. of the regime as a “systematic violator of human rights.”
Obama has abandoned claims by all U.S. administrations in the past 30 years that Iran is “a state sponsor of terrorism.” Instead, he uses the term “violent groups” to describe Iran-financed outfits such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
Obama has also promised to attend a summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference within the first 100 days of his presidency. Such a move would please the mullahs, who have always demanded that Islam be treated differently, and that Muslim nations act as a bloc in dealings with Infidel nations.
Obama’s election would boost President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s chances of winning a second term next June. Ahmadinejad’s entourage claim that his “steadfastness in resisting the American Great Satan” was a factor in helping Obama defeat “hardliners” such as Hillary Clinton and, later, it hopes, John McCain.
“President Ahmadinejad has taught Americans a lesson,” says Hassan Abbasi, a “strategic adviser” to the Iranian president. “This is why they are now choosing someone who understands Iran’s power.” The Iranian leader’s entourage also point out that Obama copied his campaign slogan “Yes, We Can” from Ahmadinejad’s “We Can,” used four years ago.
A number of Khomeinist officials have indicated their preference for Obama over McCain, who is regarded as an “enemy of Islam.” A Foreign Ministry spokesman says Iran does not wish to dictate the choice of the Americans but finds Obama “a better choice for everyone.” Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Islamic Majlis, Iran’s ersatz parliament, has gone further by saying the Islamic Republic “prefers to see Barack Obama in the White House” next year.
It has been noted...and often, that it is the shia in the north of saudi arabia that are heading up the protests there.
I had said from the outset of the Iraq war that bush was fighting a proxy war for saudi arabia against iran. People thought I was nuts.
I was right.
I ran across that same article (see post #57) and have posted it three times on different threads here at FR and got a similar response. I think the extent of the muslim connection is hard for most to accept. Maybe this thread will help.
Ok. This is another magazine. It’s not exactly new, but it has been very hard to find anywhere online and rumours swirl that authorities dislike anyone having it. It does, however, prove a point that your jihad apologist would like buried, namely that these guys are actively looking at technology.
Both known issues of “Technical Mujahid” are up now.

Strange stuff ping...
Heads up, Guys. I have made a booboo here and I want to clear it up right now. daisy posted a cut and paste link to the same article shibumi linked to back in post #57.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2696934/posts?page=57#57
I read the post when it was unformatted and didn’t reread it when it was. I should have. And I also should have cut and pasted the links, but the thread was running pretty fast, so I didn’t, and for that, I apologize because the info in them is exactly what we need here.
Bear with me. I’m learning.
“Is Barack Obama the promised warrior coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world?”
Highly doubtful. More likely he is a little crack smoking dipwad who somehow was in the right place at the right time with the right skin color and didn’t talk like LeRoy Brown. He is going to go down hard at some point real soon. I for one would not elevate Barry Soetoro to the position of “promised warrior” I think “slackazz sock puppet” is more appropriate.
Is Iran's Ahmadinejad a messianic medium?

Is Iran's Ahmadinejad a messianic medium?

With negotiations over Iran's nuclear program looming once again, understanding Iran's new president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is critically important. Perhaps the best place to start is the moment the world first gained a glimpse of Ahmadinejad's character and hard-line program.
When Ahmadinejad addressed the United Nations in New York last September, he suddenly felt himself surrounded by light. It wasn't the stage lighting, he said. It was light from heaven. Ahmadinejad related his otherworldly experience in a videotaped meeting with a prominent ayatollah in Tehran. A transcript of his comments and sections of the videotape wound up on a hard-line, pro-regime Web site, baztab.com.
According to the transcript, Ahmadinejad said a member of his entourage at the UN meeting first told him of the light. "When you began with the words 'In the name of God'... I saw a light coming, surrounding you and protecting you to the end [of the speech]." Ahmadinejad confirmed sensing a similar presence. "I felt it myself, too, that suddenly the atmosphere changed and for 27-28 minutes the leaders could not blink... They had their eyes and ears open for the message from the Islamic Republic," he told Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli.
Ahmadinejad's "vision" at the UN could be dismissed as political posturing if it weren't for a string of similar statements and actions that suggest he believes that he is destined to bring about the "end times" - the end of the world - by paving the way for the return of the Shiite Muslim messiah. Given that Iran continues to pursue suspect nuclear programs, which could bring the Islamic Republic dangerously close to a weapons capability, a leader with messianic visions is worrying. After all, this is the same man who recently pledged to use Iran's newfound powers to "wipe Israel off the map" and to "destroy America."
In a November 16 speech in Tehran to senior clerics who had come from all over Iran to hear him, the new president said that the main mission of his government was to "pave the path for the glorious reappearance of Imam Mehdi (may God hasten his reappearance)." The mystical 12th imam of Shiite Islam disappeared as a child in 941, and Twelver Shiites have awaited his reappearance ever since, believing that when he returns he will reign on earth for seven years, before bringing about the Last Judgment and the end of the world.
To prepare for the Mehdi, Ahmadinejad said, "Iran should turn into a mighty, advanced, and model Islamic society." Iranians should "refrain from leaning toward any Western school of thought" and abstain from "luxurious lives" and other excesses. Three months into Ahmadinejad's presidency, his views of the 12th imam are being widely discussed in Tehran. According to one rumor, as mayor of Tehran, Ahmadinejad drew up a new city plan for the imam's return.
In recent weeks, Ahmadinejad's aides have denied another rumor that he ordered his Cabinet to write a pact of loyalty with the 12th imam and throw it down a well near the holy city of Qom, where some believe the imam is hiding. Those who give credence to the rumor point to an early decision of his Cabinet to allocate $17 million to renovate the Jamkaran mosque, where devotees of the 12th imam have prayed for centuries.
Similarly, reports in government media outlets in Tehran have quoted Ahmadinejad as having told regime officials that the Hidden Imam will reappear in two years. This proved too much for one Iranian legislator, Akbar Alami, who publicly questioned Ahmadinejad's judgment, saying that even Islam's holiest figures have never made such claims.
While many Shiite Muslims worship the 12th imam, a previously secret society of powerful clerics, now openly advising the new president, is transforming these messianic beliefs into government policies. Led by Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, who frequently appears with Ahmadinejad, the Hojatieh society is considered by many Shiites as the lunatic fringe. During the early years of the Islamic Revolution, even Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini found their beliefs too extreme and sent them scurrying underground.
As devotees of the 12th imam, the Hojatieh believe only great tribulation will warrant his coming. Akin in some ways to Lenin's doctrine that worsening social conditions would hasten revolution, the Hojatieh believe that only increased violence, conflict and oppression will bring the Mehdi's return.
Since taking office last August, Ahmadinejad has installed Hojatieh devotees in his Cabinet and throughout the bureaucracy. The Ministry of Information and Security, largely sidelined by former President Mohammed Khatami, has re-emerged as a powerful repressive force, using plainclothes agents, allied with the paramilitary Bassij and non-government vigilantes, to crack down on potential opponents of the regime.
As the world prepares to confront an Iranian regime that continues to defy the International Atomic Energy Agency over its nuclear programs, we must listen to what Iran's leaders say as we watch what they do. A religious zealot with nuclear weapons is a dangerous combination the world cannot afford to tolerate.

If the Iranians thought this, they would not be be referring to Barry by using racial perjoratives in their diplomatic traffic.
Even despots fanatics and fascists know a fraud when they smell one.
My observation of the Iranian people is that they are very prone to westernization and 70% of them are under the age of 30. They just want the Mullahs gone so they can be more like Americans. These young folks want to go out in western dress and have a good time. I don’t think they dwell a lot on the second coming of the Mahdi.
Azchmedendijad who is a nutty nut nutty probably does believe this stuff but I think the Mullahs keep a pretty tight leash on him. I think he is more of a sock puppet than Barry is. Just my opinion I could be wrong.
Thank you, Hardraade. People need to know how/what these critters think and DO.
Off to the hospital now.
Not as much as you might think. The republican guard backs homodinejad. He is one of them, and the mullahs fear them.
WOW!!! That is wild but, for me very believable. At some point we will know for sure.
Thanks for the ping.
Wonderful! Why aren’t we hearing or reading any of this in any media, including FOX?
Did I miss something or is “Bush’s fault” exhausted and 0b0z0 is handing Iraq to Iran?
Obviously, this is a rhetorical question. Years ago with no 0b0z0 in the picture, this peon (moi,) among others, said that if leave or falter without dealing with Iran first, Iran will take Iraq without firing a shot.
We faltered by electing a coward and he’s ordering leaving Iraq to its well-known fate to his terrorist buddies.
Correction:
if leave or falter ————> if WE leave or falter
Oh, they faltered long before that. One milestone was an officer busted for advancing too fast and effectively. He was the first, but I forget his name. And there was Allen West, busted for scaring a jihadi prisoner. And of course, there was Rumsfeld knifed in the back by his president.
Going back, the war on terror has been a war for islamists all the way. Example: the first thing the US did after getting Karzai in place in Afganistan was to reinstate the country's religious police. Funny thing, democracy-building.
You're right - up to a point. May I suggest you read Growing Up in New Guinea by Margaret Mead ...
