I had heard that about him, too...that he was a kind and gentle man. Not many actors can have that said about them!

Thanks.
(((HUG))) BACK
I have a very bad feeling about what is going to happen in the US over the next few years -- a lot of FReepers like to call it Civil War II. Here in Seattle, people like Obama and Soros, and organizations like SEIU and ACORN are viewed heroically. We have a city, county and state government in sympathy with these people, and I don't think people like myself will be safe here. Who wants to maintain an armed defensive perimeter around one's apartment 24/7? I think I'll be safer in the Old South.

It's been crazy around here. Work and life in general. Got away last weekend and I'm still trying to catch up on the missing sleep....

Speaking of actors..
I was watching some Laugh-In reruns..
They had Henry Gibson come out with his over-sized flower to say a silly poem..
Then John Wayne came out with a giant red white and blue flower and said:
“They sky is blue
the grass is green
now get off your butt,
and join the Marines!”
LOL

There was a wonderful window bit at the end where Goldie Hawn recited this poem:
Of all the fishes in the sea
The one I like the best is bass.
He climbs on the rocks and trees
And slides down on his -- (pause) -- hands and knees.

Would you happen to have “Don’t Ever Leave Me”? It was Connie’s last hit, from 1964.

I had a coonskin cap in 1954. Fess Parker was one of my early heroes on the tube.

I ran across Fess Parker in a film he made three years before Disney cast him as Davy Crockett. It was "Springfield Rifle", a 1952 Gary Cooper flick. He played a young Confederate soldier.
