Some think they tried to preach the gospel to the pirates. They would have had several days to do it. When the ship was captured it was far from Somalia.
He won’t take action. The hostages are not in the demographic that he cares about (rich & white...you get my drift). Barry is going to watch this country burn. The casualties will mount. The ultimate question is....is it just incompetence or a Carter-esk approach to foreign policy...or is it something for more nefarious. IMHO it is starting to look like the latter.

Problem is there's no one to declare war on! They've a real catch-22 there in that there's no government so there's not a party on whom to declare the war.

This is terrible news, but there’s a side of me that says any U.S. citizen who sails a yacht within a thousand miles of Somalia should really be a Darwin Award nominee.
They were just white people bitterly clinging to, handing out Bibles. They acted stupidly. Why should Obama care about that?

We can (should) declare war on pirates and those who harbor pirates, just like declaring war on terrorists and those who harbor them.
I heard the other day that there are currently over 600 hostages and 30 ships held by Somali pirates.
All because we and other nations allow them to get away with it.

Take the two survivors, give them some pentothal, find out where their base is. Make the survivors into shark food. Flatten the base.

That’s bullsh1t. The pirates were killed DESPITE Obama’s command failure, because in Obama’s incompetence in orders the Seals and the warship’s Captain found enough room for them to act and they did. It was boldness — near insubordination — on their part, but it saved the hijacked merchant Captain’s life.
Obama thereupon bore and bears a bloody grudge against the Seals and special forces.
Ooohhh I know, let’s really terrify them and cast them away to...Bermuda.

Why worry about niceties? Just destroy the harbor town and then sail away. No muss, no bother. Obsessing over protocol is counterproductive.

I’m just glad that none of our brave fighting men and women needed to be put into harms way to bring this embarrassingly stupid episode to a conclusion.
