He’s been completely feckless. But that defines his approach to everything that might involve offending his good buddies.
Somebody somewhere has got to stand up and say that this must stop. Obviously, Hillary is as bad as Obama, but there must be a grownup somewhere in our government who recognizes the stakes here.
We’ve essentially let lawlessness overtake that part of the seas. It has been so long since we have had to worry about piracy that we take it for granted that the oceans are safe. But there was a time when every ocean voyage and even fishing trip was done in fear of pirates. There have been many other pirate groups - the Vikings, the pre-Christian Irish, even the English and the French in their day (although they were often considered privateers and a free-lance extension of their country’s navy), and of course the Muslims, from anywhere and everywhere. All of them except the Muslims have abandoned piracy, which can paralyze trade and national economies and is too dangerous to be tolerated.

Well the community organizer is going to vote “present” on this particular situation. See he has to control the Internet, our health care and back down them evil conservatives who are trying to dismantle his precious unions.
After all there is only so much he can do in between golfing and vacations. One must have ones priorities in order don’t you know?

Apparently there were something like 15 pirates on-board the boat. A "seal team bullet" sounds very manly and stuff, but it wouldn't kill them all -- and delivery of the bullet would have resulted in the hostages' deaths in any case.
There was never going to be a good end to this particular situation.... the question now is, will Obama use it to teach the pirates a lesson they'll remember?

It was the plan devised by Osama and his cronies to show the USA as a gutless paper tiger. They made their point, we pulled out. Then Muslims took over. This is the result.
Now you can’t really think for a minute that the United Nations who was just as responsible and ineffective in dealing with that mess, or Obama are finally going to grow a spine and do something about this now.
No, It will have to wait for an American President who has some guts and patriotism to be elected before this can be stopped once and for all. Obama will never order the attack on Muslims.
On another thread I suggested getting an old Osa class PTFG. Don’t need the SS-N-2 Styx anti-ship missiles for this. Fix it up so that it looks like a yacht from a distance. When a pirate boat approaches, keep enticing it, then uncover the batteries (surplus 40mm Bofors, 20mm Oerlikon, maybe a 7.62mm Minigun, and approach at 40 knots. Might want to add a white noise jammer so the pirates can’t radio home.
