Apparently there were something like 15 pirates on-board the boat. A "seal team bullet" sounds very manly and stuff, but it wouldn't kill them all -- and delivery of the bullet would have resulted in the hostages' deaths in any case.
There was never going to be a good end to this particular situation.... the question now is, will Obama use it to teach the pirates a lesson they'll remember?
He could have them tried in New York and given US citizen rights to lawyers and a fair trial.........I mean, after all, it would prove to the world how civilized we are. /s
Obama will only try to do what will make him look good for re-election.

But this is hardly an isolated incident. There are hundreds being held hostage even now.
Meanwhile the entire coast is full of ships that are used by hijackers and pirates that are being left alone by everyone.
Obama will do NOTHING. For him to do a preemptive strike would be unheard of and against his core values of hurting another Muslim.
That entire coastline should be and could be blockaded by warships - using pirates for target practice.
