When I lived in NYC and had a carry (19 years with carry) I used to shoot at the pistol range above.

“I don’t believe people should be allowed to have guns in America,” Ms. Stewart, daughter of Martha, said in an interview, explaining that she bought a .357 Magnum after 9/11 — but would be happy to give it up if handguns were banned.

What a frakkin’ idjit.

"And there were a few conflicted souls, like Alexis Stewart, co-host of “Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer” on SiriusXM radio and the Hallmark Channel.

“I don’t believe people should be allowed to have guns in America,” Ms. Stewart, daughter of Martha, said in an interview, explaining that she bought a .357 Magnum after 9/11 — but would be happy to give it up if handguns were banned. “Having a swimming pool is way more dangerous than having a gun,” she added."

Conflicted? How about I use the same garbagethink, Alexis, to suggest we put your mom back in jail for trading stocks?

My guess is, since you don't respect the right, you'll screw up and use it against someone unthreatening and unarmed, and then you and your mom can enjoy a cell together...

From what I learned years back when I gave a crap...

Firearms concealed carry registration when sorted by profession, excluding those associated with law enforcement peoples, was:

1. Lawyers

2. MD’s

3. Psychiatrists

There is a theme here; guess what it is and get a prize.

8 million people live there....and yet only 37,000 are given the privilege to exercise a right that predates the Constitution and is guaranteed by it. Disgusting.

““The first guy comes out with a sawed-off shotgun, goes right by me and says, ‘Be cool, man,’ ” said Mr. Catsimatidis, who has owned a gun for at least 35 years. “The second guy comes out with a sawed-off shotgun, goes by me and says, ‘Be cool, man.’ The third guy comes out with a sawed-off shotgun, and I intertwine my arm into his arm, and I put my gun to his head, and I say, ‘Drop your gun, or I’ll blow your head off.’ ”

When the police arrived, they arrested the man, and examined Mr. Catsimatidis’s weapon — a Walther PPK/S 9-millimeter pistol.

“The sergeant says to me, ‘You couldn’t have shot the guy anyway: your safety is still on,’ ” Mr. Catsimatidis recalled. “The sweat started dripping off my head.

“I’m not going to do anything stupid like that again.” “

I guess a safety isn’t a two way switch. Once taken off, it can’t be put back on. /sarc

I have no doubt that, just like Gannett did in the '70's, the Slimes would have printed the addresses had they been made available.

Telling note on the graphic "A Gun Around the House" -
"Handgun owners with permits tend to live in parts of the city with low crime rates."

Isn't that special! They must have more law-abiding criminals in those parts!!     </sarc>

Among the more than 37,000 people licensed to have a handgun in the city are dozens of boldface names and public figures: prominent business leaders, elected officials, celebrities, journalists, judges and lawyers.

The average Joe need not apply.

This woman is not thinking, she is reacting on pure emotion. Guns are scary, so it is ok to ban them over pools. Twit

Humility seems to be a strong trait in the Stewart family.

Guns are meant to be a check on Governmental power – just the same as the First Amendment, so Ms. Stewart, would you say this instead:

“I don’t believe people should be allowed to have guns Free-Speech in America,”?

I refuse to go to NY and I refuse to do any business in NY. They refuse to honor any of the LTCs or military firearms quals. Screw them. I also try to convince my friends, neighbors, relatives, and business associates to do the same.

THIS IS WHY A GUN PERMIT PROCESS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Equal protection under Amendment 14. The 2nd Amendment right is upheld for Alexis Stewart and others in a very small segment of the population but not for every other citizen of New York.

The permitting process allows the government sole disgression to deprive citizens of 2nd Amendment rights without a trial by jury.

I had no idea Martha Stewart used narcotics while pregnant. Would her demented spawn also favor banning those "way more dangerous" swimming pools?
