[Madison, WI] As tens of thousands of public employees skipped work this week to attend protest rallies outside the Wisconsin State Capitol, many wondered if they would face any disciplinary action for unexcused absences.
On Saturday, a group of men and women in lab coats purporting to be doctors were handing out medical excuse notes, without examining the patients.
I asked this doctor what he was doing and he told me they were handing out excuses to people who were feeling sick due to emotional, mental or financial distress, said Christian Hartsock. They never performed an examhe asked me how I was feeling today and I said Im from California and Im not used to the cold, so he handed me a note.
Another woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were handing out excuses like they were leaflets.
I asked if they were handing out doctors excuses and a guy said yes and asked me if I needed one, she said. When I told them I needed one for February 16 and 17th, he wondered if I wanted to come back here for the protests next week.
What happened next?
I said, sure, and I received a doctors note for the 16th through the 25th of February, without a medical exam.
The notes read
Feb 19, 2011

Date of birth ____/_____/_____
To Whom it May Concern:
This is confirm I have seen and evaluated the above named patient.
Please excuse from work/school due to a medical condition from

Based on an examination of the signature and medical license number provided, one of the men handing out these notes was purporting to be James H Shropshire MD, a Clinical Associate Professor at the University Wisconsin Madison.
At this time, MacIver News Service is attempting to contact Dr. Shropshire to see if indeed he was the one handing out the notes on the Capitol Square.

You are wrong. One of the purposes of the RICO statutes was to go after ‘organized crime’, but it includes those who control, manage or operate organization is a manner that violates the RICO statutes.
Handing out phoney doctor’s excuses is not one of the RICO predicate acts.
Lavishly funded, it has an enrollment of over 40 thousand students and a budget of over $2 billion. Most students come from Wisconsin and Minnesota.
World-famous conservative economist and Nobel Prize winner, the late Milton Friedman, quit his teaching job there after what he termed "an ugly display of anti-Semitism."

None of them are "patients". They are scammers. Besides why give a fake name if you need it for your excuse from work?

You're right, we should go after Organizing for America and the Unions.
I guarantee this is not the first time they have done this I wonder how many times they have written fake medical excuses to get teachers out on sick leave or medical leave.
Are they still adhering to the liberal Hypocritical Oath...."First, do harm."
Looks like it.

These people should all be fired.
But they’re union and won’t be. :(

The Bamster will only fund them as long as they're useful. After that, it's under the bus. They're trying to save some face, now.
Truly, though, this is big for them. Restricting their negotiations to salary kills most of their ability to negotiate for salary, also. In collective bargaining, once any agreement is made in any area of employment, such as the hiring process, neither side can change any area of that area without agreement from the other side. One of the ways unions increase salary is to demand a percentage increase in salary in exchange for allowing management to make changes to the hiring process. A good union negotiator can destroy management's ability to run an agency at all without paying a salary increase to get the authority to make the change.
Can't say I'm 100% on board with that. Having worked in governmental agencies for around twenty years, it's been obvious to me that management's interest is seldom running a department effectively. When given free reign, department heads create small kingdoms, rewarding cronies and rear end kissers and squandering funds on their pet projects while ignoring core services. Just my experience.
No, I doubt it is the first time either!

Usually one would have to go to prison to find this kind of teaching...
Every doctor handing out “excuses” should lose their license, and whatever position they hold now.
Every teacher who turns in one of these phony “excuses” should lose their job. They don’t have the morals to be teaching kids.
And while jobs are being forfeited for breaking the law, the dims who ran away to avoid voting, the job they were elected to do, should lose theirs as well.
Being a liberal means never to have shame.
