On Sunday, Treasury Secretary Geithner will have dinner at Treasury with former secretaries of the Treasury.
What's up with this? There was no indication on the weekly Treasury schedule, put out just a day ago, that this dinner was planned. Very unusual.
On top of that, the Treasury put this notice out at 9:00PM on a Saturday night. Sure looks like a rushed meeting to me.
Buy gold and lead. The latter should be coupled with brass and cordite.
Consider that oil probably goes up $10 tomorrow. Then the panic sets in. The market is near a two year high, and the sheep will run for the gates. A 300-500 point drop is not out of the question. I was probably being a little dramatic with the ‘87 type drop, but when the “panic” ensues, people will be running for the door.
The other thing to consider would be a terrorist attack targeted to coincide with the upheaval. THIS would be the time for AQ to do something to upset the apple cart.
These guys do not get together to watch the ball game. And the celtics are playing this afternoon—so there is no game tonight.
Perhaps they are doing their baseball fantasy draft...but its a little early for that too.
Would saran wrap do in a pinch?
We will have to wait and see what it means but I wouldn’t rush out and spend my money. It could mean lots of things like market turmoil (that’s already started) in spite of the Fed propping it up.
Easy....Middle East is on fire.
Saudi Arabia’s stock exchange tumbled by over six per cent Saturday, setting the stage for other regional markets to drop as concerns mounted about the violent protests in Egypt.
that quote is from friday...the mkt was down 166 on friday...
thats not the current futures...
Saran wrap clings. You want to deflect. If no tin foil is handy, you’ll have to scrounge. There is foil backing for some popular gum wrappers; cutting open and shaping the metal from a can might do as well.
Defaults on a grand scaled equate to debt deflation. With the velocity of money at historic lows.
Buy and hold cash, in the bank and under your mattress.
I bet they are deciding if they want their Goldman Sachs bonuses to be in Gold or Yuan.
Spread the blame maneuver.
“...Stock Market is going to take an 87 type plunge tomorrow...”
Not my OIL STOCKS!
With the collapse of Egypt into a America -hating Islamofascist State, even the braindead at Wall Street can see the writing on the wall.
The likelihood that Israel will have no choice but to use Nukes is increasing hourly.
Suez Canal ( yes Chrissy it is Suez NOT Panama), falling to Muslim Brotherhood extremist.
The immediate effect which will be skyrocketing retail gas prices.
How long before Americans will be BEGGING oil companies to drill in the U. S.

Oh Yeh!!!!
Don’t let a good crisis go to waste. With everybody focused on Egypt, I’m sure there is some chicanery going on in Washington as we Freep.
I used to never much like Ford but my opinion has changes ever since they refused ti take bailout money from the federal government.
Now I would rather buy a Ford than either GM or Chrysler which to me are traitors to this country for taking bsilout money.
>> stuff to use and barter, I can do that.
Good plan. .22 ammo by the case, f’rinstance. Can’t eat gold; I suppose you could make bullets out of it but they wouldn’t be very good ones.
Or, if you want to get rid of your money real quick and the stores are closed, you can just write me a check. :-)
Timothy Geithner obviously doesn’t know whether to ‘shit-or-go-blind’, so he is seeking advice from a brown-stained-pants, blind subject matter professional.

Of course not. Plastic permits passage of RF
Absent tinfoil, wear a galvanized bucket
Not to worry, Mubarak. The administration has your back—until they don’t.
