Saudi Arabian King Abdallah Ibn Abdulaziz al Saud says demonstrators in Egypt want to destabilize the country by "inciting a malicious sedition."
He made the comments in a call to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Saturday to offer his support, the state-run Saudi News Agency reported.
"Egypt is a country of Arabism and Islam," the king said. "No Arab and Muslim human being can bear that some infiltrators, in the name of freedom of expression, have infiltrated into the brotherly people of Egypt, to destabilize its security and stability and they have been exploited to spew out their hatred in destruction, intimidation, burning, looting and inciting a malicious sedition."

The amazing part is that the king didn’t blame Israel
Well an Arab in Cairo who was part of the riots just called in to CNN to complain that there are no police in his area to protect him from looters and robbers. Now I say that Muzzies are insane. They attack the Police and then complain the Police are not there. KuKu...KuKu...KuKu!
Send in a couple thousand secret police to help catch and kill the trash.
I see we now have islamomarxists rallying at the UN.
Abdallah has got to be quaking in his sandals right now that this thing is contained. If Mubarak falls that’s going to quicken these still largely nascent rumblings in Yemen, Jordan and even the House of Saud. It sounds as if northern Africa could cut loose as well if Egypt falls.
The entire ME right now looks like a giant powder keg which is creeping closer to the flame.
They are absolutely insane.
What kind of a country determines government appointments and policy by mob rule?
I realize they don’t have a legit political process or honest elections but a mob is still a mob. And burning buildings and cars does not constitute a “demonstration” where I come from. It constitutes felonious behavior.
What do you suppose would happen if a mob of tea partiers surrounded the WH, burned some government vehicles, and demanded that 0 left the country? What would that get them except maybe to be machine gunned?
I’m not surprised. He must be frightened
” The amazing part is that the king didnt blame Israel “
Also amazing is that the statement seems to be straightforward and unconditional, with no hedging - don’t think I’ve ever seen that from Saudi, before...
(Of course, this is a translation - the original in Arabic may be somewhat different....)
A revolution would be disastrous for our interests... who usually takes control of a revolution - radical elements, who are the most disciplined, aggressive and assertive forces in it. We’ve seen it happen in Cuba and in Iran. In the end, the radicals took over.
When the flame grows big, destroy Iran and it will all be over.
I too think this is a bunch of Socialist Marxists. Obama is in there with them creating Chaos. We need to prepare to deal with this scum here. When the cutting of the freebies starts they will be out in force.
I think Abdullah is fearful, but not of an internal struggle for his own reign. The grasp that the House of Saud has on its country isn't nearly as tenuous as Mubarak's. In fact, for a variety of reasons, what is happening in Egypt is extremely unlikely to happen in Saudi Arabia.
But, Abdullah does have a fear, and it's the same fear that the Israelis have - that Egypt will fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood, and become another proxy regime of the Iranian Mullahs. That would be bad news. Abdullah is worried about external threats, not internal threats.
Actually his statement indicates how they intend to deal with “sedition.” While the statement appears to support Mubarak...it telegraphs a very clear message to his own people.
You pull that crap here...it is sedition.
I agree and is there any reason to believe that the Mullahs in Tehran are feeling any different? If Abdallah thought that this was an Islamic revolution he would be supporing it. If it smells bad in Saudi it smells the same in Tehran.
I agree, if Obama is supporting the protestors than that can’t be good for America’s interests. I have no doubt if Mubarak falls Egypt will be taken over by radical islam, and I suspect Bam knows that.
We did it here in the 60s. Black power and Vietnam and all that.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia are two different worlds.
In Egypt, one is safe to discuss politics in the street cafes of Cairo. In Saudi Arabia, one would be frightened to even question the political leadership to themselves.
I realize that.
But what we don’t get out of Saudi Arabia is the free flow of news. They are a closed society.
Any word of uprisings etc. will only be rumor unless they succeed.
I found the princes statement regarding “infiltrators and acts of sedition,” very telling on how he views today’s events.
