Yes I think Trump will go long and catch the ball.

Much to the dismay of the Palin cheerleaders I honestly do not think she will get her game on, when you play nice guy (or girl) the opposition won’t you already face an uphill battle.

And the MSM still has its song and dance act to hypnotize America into hating Sarah Palin. Its a tough battle, about the only way to break the hold would be for if indeed the internet and media were to be turned off, even a disruption of a few hours would be enough for a major tide of sympathy towards Sarah Palin. I honestly and truly believe this is what would happen, America knows obama wants to control the internet, but should obama hit the switch it would also be a suicide switch for obama.

I’m wondering if given the situation, Rand Paul still believes we need to completely cut off aid to Israel..

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2045166,00.html

“What will not come to pass is that Israel will have a democratic neighbor, because democracies don’t appear overnight,” Avineri tells TIME. “Look at Russia. You need a civil society. You need political tradition, pluralism, tolerance, existence of effective parties.”

Israeli press reports described a weekend of frantic meetings in the upper echelons of government. The Israeli Defense Forces, which have concentrated most of their attention on the borders with Lebanon and Gaza, were described as preparing new deployments to the south, where Israel fought wars with Egypt four times. U.S. diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks last year included diplomats’ complaints that the Egyptian military continued to regard Israel as its principal enemy and prepared for war in the Sinai Desert, which lies between them.
(See how Israel is backing Mubarak.)

“I have no doubt that the whole defense establishment will now ask for bigger budgets and say, ‘Well, we have to adjust ourselves to a situation where Egypt is not the cooperative partner we had until a week ago,’” says Oded Eran, director of the Institute for National Security Studies, a Tel Aviv think tank brimming with retired generals. “Egypt is sort of the beacon or marker for security tension, for dangers with the Arab world.”

No one pretends to know the implications. After Egypt signed a peace treaty, Jordan followed, then the Palestine Liberation Organization. In time, the Arab League went from calling for war with Israel to formulating a 2002 plan to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with two states.
(Comment on this story.)

But from the Israeli perspective, some of the dangers are immediate. Al-Jazeera aired an interview with an Islamic militant who in the chaos of the past few days had escaped a Cairo jail and made his way back to Gaza, where he pledged to resume attacks on Israel. He said thousands escaped with him.

“Yes, we are very, very worried about the situation,” says an Israeli general. The officer spoke privately in observance of the government’s order of radio silence, a harm-reduction measure Netanyahu reaffirmed in brief remarks to reporters before Sunday’s regular Cabinet meeting. He had spoken with both President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton overnight. “At this time, we must show responsibility and restraint and maximum consideration,” the Prime Minister said. “The peace between Israel and Egypt has lasted for more than three decades and our objective is to ensure that these relations will continue to exist.”

Iran to showcase new rockets, satellites: report (32nd Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution)
Yahoo ^ | 1/30/11 | AFP

Posted on Monday, January 31, 2011 10:53:50 AM by NormsRevenge

TEHRAN (AFP) – Iran said on Sunday it will showcase what it called a new range of rockets and satellites during annual celebrations marking the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi said Safir 1-B and Kavoshgar 4 rockets and Rasad and Fajr satellites would be unveiled during the 10-day celebrations that start on Tuesday, according to state television website.

Iran will mark on February 11 the 32nd anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution which toppled the US-backed shah. Every year Tehran uses the occasion to tout its scientific and technological achievments.

The Safir (Ambassador) 1-B rocket can carry a satellite weighing 50 kilogrammes (110 pounds) into an elliptical orbit of 300 to 450 kilometres (185 to 280 miles), the website said.

Iran sent into space in February 2009 the Safir 2 rocket carrying its first home-built satellite, called Omid (Hope).

The state television report said the other Kavoshgar (Explorer) 4 rocket has a range of 120 kilometres.

In February 2010, Iran launched a capsule carrying live turtles, rats and worms aboard a Kavoshgar 3 rocket in what was its first experiment to send living creatures in space.

And then there’s this:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2666199/posts

CNN reporter Nic Robertson hit the streets and interviewed Egyptian protesters who did not hold anything back with their revelations regarding why they were revolting and what “free” Egyptians might do.

One protester screamed:

“All the people hate him. He’s supporting Israel! Israel is our enemy. We don’t like him . . . Israel and America supported him. We hate them all. We don’t like them!”

Trump may become another Ross Perot, but he will not be seen as a likely winner. His belief that OPEC will collapse is simply because he does not understand that entity very well. Opec controls most all of the World's energy. If the ME melts down, OPEC will gain, not lose. OPEC’s main strength is based on Saudi Arabia, North Sea and European reserves.

If the Suez shuts down, they will still get the oil to market by other means. And Saudi Arabia is by far the biggest OPEC player in the ME. They are not going anywhere any time soon.

Obviously the government or someone else is manipulating the markets. Oil is up only a little. The NYSE is up 60 points instead of being down several hundred.

The markets should have crashed several years ago so at least the recovery could have been started. But, then again, who knows where we would be now. No one can play the “what if” game.

There are at least five more years of bad mortgage loans that still have to go though, right?

These things never seem to go away in the ME. So many in the population are so full of hate now. One would think, the ME population should have been paid enough to where they would love us by now. Maybe the Arab street only wants more payola? This is after-all what the protest are about, jobs and pay. The Arabs love to speak for hours concerning the price of any and everything, quite peacefully normally. Is this the beginning of a not so peacefully demand for more money? Answering this question appears to be an affirmative. Being a layperson, myself, this is not about FREEDOM. Reminds me of the problem with everyone who thinks they deserve a bailout, welfare, or whatever is demanded. FREEDOM is given a seat at the back of the bus, if not thrown under the bus.... imho

I would think that is part of it. The markets are being manipulated by the Treasury Secretary and the Fed Chair. They called it QE 1 & 2. (Quantitative Easing) They also pumped nearly 4 Trillion into the economy after the 780 b. TARP and 830 B. Porkulus. Not one word was said about this from the media either. (over 40 us corporations received the money) They handed out huge amounts without Congressional approval. The list of companies that received the money is shocking. (Even Caterpillar is one of them) The list was published here 2 weeks ago, but I failed to mark it and have lost the source, but believe me, it is real. There needs to be immediate investigations into this corruption. Instead, they bury it.

It is 12:41 PM here in Minneapolis at the moment, and the weather is pretty good. No blizzard here at the present.

I think most of it is going to the south of us. They might run into some of it on the road, however.

Hoping they have an uneventful trip, and arrive safely.

Al-Jazeera journalists freed at behest of US State Dept
Jerusalem Post ^ | January 31, 2011

Posted on Monday, January 31, 2011 11:47:08 AM by rightwingintelligentsia

The release of six Al-Jazeera journalists who had been detained by Egyptian security forces on Monday came as a result of US State Department pressure, The Washington Post reported.

The journalists were in Egyptian custody after authorities ordered the closure of the network’s Cairo office. By mid-afternoon, the network reported via Twitter that the six were released but that authorities had seized their equipment.

Nah. I'd be suprised if this crisis hasn't about run out.

While I pray you are correct, cannot help but remind (all of us) things turn on a dime (180 degrees) in that part of the world. By the end of tomorrow there could be a slight decrease in the fog, or the fog could thicken up..... mho

Before OPEC’s Oil Crisi #1, I remember the XX cents/gallon of gas. Seriously.

The release of the USD from the gold standard was just a double-whammy.
