From FOX:
DEVELOPING: Loud explosions and gunfire were heard in the Egyptian capital of Cairo Friday, as protesters demanding the removal of President Hosni Mubarak defied a curfew, Al Jazeera reported. Egyptian television reports the ruling party headquarters in Cairo are on fire.
From TWITTER:
WashingtonPost: Clinton: We urge #Egypt authorities to allow peaceful protest, reverse unprecedented steps it has taken to cut off communications less than 20 seconds ago
Whose feed is FNC carrying, anyone know?
He’s babbling and lying, calling these protests, and demonstrations when his entire country is on fire.
He said, “I’m on the side of the poor”...
Too funny!
Castro is filming him.
Hosni Mubarak:
“I am always attached to the suffering of the Egyptian people”
“Change cannot be achieved through chaos but through dialog”
“I have always taken the side of the poor people and will always do so”
All I can say is that you are so right.
Now Mubarak is talking so I guess he’s back in control.
NOW is the time for the US to do something about this guy.
I have no faith in Hillary or Obama to handle this thing. They need to ease Mubarak outta there and put in somebody who isn’t a radical Islamist, or REALLY make Mubarak do better.
If America goes on as before, next time those people rise up I double dare any thread posters to defend Mubarak that WE may be comfortable with our freedoms.
Scrub that, Al Jazeera is fine.
That he will. This is a plain out stupid speech. It will incite more violence tomarrow.
I agree to a point. You never know when the likes of these people will turn on you, even if you toe the line 99% of the time.
Where do you think Mubarek is speaking from? Egypt or Switzerland?
Hosni Mubarak:
“We will go above the looting which may indicate plots against Egypt”
“I call on every man and woman to stand for the good of the Egyptian public”
“The course to reform has no point of return and we will continue”
"I'll make everything right, I love poor people, please don't storm the castle and hang me.
Total chaos...
>> “NOW is the time for the US to do something about this guy.” <<
.
What do you think is going on?
Obama is trying to install the Moslem Brotherhood (terrorists) in his place.
Yeah......just like Turkey. Life is much better under Islamists. /s
Muslim brotherhood aka Al Queda aka radical jihadists are cheering on the stoopid kids in the street.
If the power structure in Egypt is actually downed......who do you thing will move into that power vacuum?
It’s Iran all over again.
Al Jazeera stumbled for a few seconds but came back.
Their coverage has been much, much better than Fox or CNN.
Much.
Mubarak is bad, no doubt about it, but he’s a million times better than the Muslim Brotherhood.
I was in the middle of high school back then. It sure made Israel’s plight crystal clear.
I remember running duck and cover drills, around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mubarak just called for the resignation of the current government.
He fired the old government and has a new one.
That was fast.
Yep - if we're going to put puppets in - they damn well better be worthwhile puppets...
Hosni Mubarak:
“The past few days have left the majority or people fearing for Egypt”
“May God save Egypt and its people”
