Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

He may have known what was wrong with him...Sugar low etc. Who wants an ER bill when a candy bar or coke would do the trick. Police don’t hand out candy bars.
I saw two early statements...one said he fell out the the truck, the other said his body was jutting out. Nothing was in quotes. So damn much poetic license on this case, it was pathetic.
So, since this article was later, and an organized interview, I took this to be "the truth" because it was an interview with the supervisor and there were direct quotes.
I believe the trucks come in, unload and drive away. The equipment is monstrous and the noise is deafening. A landfill is an awful place. We have one nearby. There is pile after pile and they are leveled and then compacted.
And spotters are just that...If I spot something from here...I'll take a closer look.
There is a horendous amount of activity and noise and direction going on.
So, to my mind...the body could have been in the front seat of someones truck...and got pushed out into the pile....and I'm almost thinking that is exactly what occurred....now that we know he wasn't stabbed or shot...(No blood flowing.
They have to look at all the "trucks/drivers between 9;00 PM on the 30th and the time the body was found.
I'd go after the front seat of each truck for DNA...
And you know what...we don't know if there was an unusual event at the landfill just prior to finding the body...a distraction???
I'd also love it if John had a gun and shot one of the little bas**** before they did him in.
maybe someone was working on the pipes. Its an older kitchen
Or, maybe someone was looking for hidden stass?
There are pictures earlier in the thread. Note what we originally thought was dirt on the floor is the dust LEO uses to expose footprints. Also notice the scrape make about four board down from the top.
If you read later in the thread Buck it has been proven that the police took up the floor boards. What a mystery this is.
The parking attendant said she offered to call the police or ambulance and he refused.
Sometimes, when people know they're going to be away from home for a few days leave their tv or lights on. Sometimes there's a timer, sometimes not.
BUt the question remains when was it turned off and by whom?
That might be an indication of when/if he arrived home.
Then ask the pharmacist for a peppermint.
The only thing I can think of for him not wanting police or anyone’s help is that someone was after him and he didn’t trust anyone OR his head injury caused him to not think properly.
Thanks for the ping. Hoping all the truth comes out...

"......Tenth, the piece Ricks wrote is so journalistically irresponsible that it unforgivably wounded folks who Can't Fight Back. That is, he rattled the morale and feelings of parents of prospective cadets and midshipmen and the prospects themselves, and many cadets and midshipmen, and widows and NOK of Academy grads killed in battle, and he insulted the brave dead from Academies.
Hal Moore USMA 1945 of "We Were Soldiers" is an overpriced product of a third-rate college? Some would disagree. His steel in saving his battalion is seen by many as Proof of West Point's Value as Founded by Presidents Washington and Jefferson.
Paul W. "Buddy" Bucha USMA 1965 is an overpriced grad of a third rate school? Congress and the President probably thought otherwise in citing Buddy for the Medal of Honor for saving the 89 men in his surrounded and cut-off Company in the 101st Abn.
My dad John Wheeler USMA Jan 1943 at Normandy and the Ardennes and the Bridge at Remagen and the Liberation of the Nordhausen Death Camps was the overpriced grad of a third rate school? Ricks can go to Arlington and speak that at my Dad's grave :)...."(excerpt)

I have said this before, as long as there is breath in my body, I will NEVER FORGET.
Awesome summation!
From the UK:
“White House aide whose body was found in a dumpster died of blunt force trauma (so what - or who - hit him?)”
By Daily Mail Reporter
Leave it to the Brits to ask the direct questions :)
The body was spotted by a dump inspector as the truck was emptying a dumpster into the landfill.
That's just one possibility...and we are brainstorming for possible explanations.
