Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

John is surely a creature of habit. He has been traveling this DC/Wilmington/New Castle route for years.
If the cabbie saw him twice in two days, then he saw him 50 times in 100 days.
In other words, "I've seen him a lot of times" would have probably been a more appropriate answer,
I'm just pondering this because the cabbie "pulled back" and said "That's all I know"....like if he talked anymore, he'd see the same fate.
I'd say by now they have all the electronic searches completed...that they're tracking someone. Is an arrest coming?? Or will they just bury the whole thing?
>> “like if he talked anymore, he’d see the same fate.” <<
.
He either knew nothing, or he knew way too much.
But it does seem unlikely that he never saw Wheeler.
.
Please add me to your Wheeler ping list. Thanks.
In reference to the Happy Harry's in New Castle, I couldn't find this with Google Maps or with the Happy Harry's store locator. There was a news video that had a shot of it, though. It looked isolated, ( although almost all the Happy Harry's in the area are in a mall of some sort, ) and a tree line was visible behind it. One news item gave the location as being along the main drag through town, and another even mentioned the name of the proprietor, but I never pinpointed the location. I suppose it's new.
How close to any of the sumsters the tuck picked up?
So much for trying to do two things at once....
It should be “ How close to any of the dupsters that the truck picked up?”
You’re getting better....Now stop picking your nose while you’re typing.
LOL You don’t know how close to the truth you are.....

Jack Never made it home (New Castle, 10 miles away).
He was last seen at the DuPont parking garage in downtown
Wilmington 3 blocks from where his car was parked.
He got off the train from D.C. in Wilmington, showed up at
the wrong parking garage, said he was robbed and
was never seen alive again.
His body turned up in (1 of 10)a dumpster in Newark about 12 miles
from where he was last seen alive.
There are no reports of him ever being seen in New Castle on the 28th.

Thanks for the information Dave. Tried to find out if a bump on the head would cause bloodshot eyes today. Couldn’t get any information.
How does the change from jacket to hoodie work into your timeline?
The Pharmacist at Happy Harry's said he has filled prescriptions for Jack before so this is to be close to home.
The cab call which preceeded the stop at the Pharmacy said 273 and 9th. The Pharmacy and Happy Harry's are right near each other according to EVERYTHING I have read.
It's about 6 miles from Wilmington to his home.
It is very common when a skull fracture is involved.
Thank you for your testimony about Jack Wheeler. I have been sick at heart about his murder since I first heard about it.
If you find any news, I’d appreciate a ping, if it’s not too much trouble.
Anyway, I found it along Rt. 13 SOUTH of New Castle. I can recognize the red false roofing from the news video. The Street View from Rt. 13 shows the building and trees behind it, and I believe I can make out the HAPPY HARRY'S on the store front, all verifying features, but the view is hampered by the sun angle. This is good enough for me and I'm saying that's it.
The Walgreen's store on 740 Ferry Cutoff has video cameras all over
it but alas Jack never showed up on one of them.
It is 9.1 miles from the parking to Jacks house.
Unless one wishes to go through traffic light city and
the projects on Rt 9.
