Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

my turn to think out loud
photos of kitchen: we see copper water pipes, but where’s the main drain pipes? my eyes aren’t wht they used to be - can anyone see the main drain? is is missing/removed/gone?
nothing disturbed in kitchen - knives are in line, none missing, and to the left are notebooks/phonebook/cookbook something - all neat - plant doesn’t look watered (wish I could feel the soil-ha!) - no cabinets/drawers open or ransacked
another writeup, only thing ‘new’ is this:
“Police reiterated Friday that the case remains under investigation but acknowledge they cannot fill in critical gaps in the mystery and don’t have any suspects”.

how ‘bout they find these slimeballs and see what they were up to on the night of the 30th - a team, with a big boy, hunting on RTE 9:

Now that I look at the pics I posted of the kitchen, the floorboards are missing all the way across the front of the counter, not just in front of the dishwasher or sink.
Some have surmised a new dishwasher but, that thing matches the cabinets exactly - doubtful it’s new.
And, I doubt the entire floor would need to be removed to fix a pipe.
This links back to pic.
The landfill is at the east end of 12th STREET, only 2 miles from where Jack was last seen and in the same direction he was walking.
Was he really in one of the 10 dumpsters...which were in Newark, several miles west??
Was Jack finally going to Police which is near where his car was parked? Was he just going out to eat?
Would LEO take the drain to obtain DNA... From culprit washing up?
In spite of what others say, I think the floor was taken to do further testing: DNA etc.
Just noticed the second chair used to tie off the crime scene ribbon. Chairs were moved to set off this particular area. Notice the small square taken on the left, it does not match up with the rest of the area taken.
TOL: Did someone try cleaning up the area...removing bloodsplatter with water? Taking to lab to do testing?
In pictures of bootprints...Cabinet behind is same color as cabinets in kitchen but doesn’t have same design on bottom. ALso notice left side. Is that an inside doorway?
Footprint going out? or in?
Contractor's Association was co-founded by Frank Marini’s uncle.
Another poster mentioned that they remembered reading that Wheeler's body was left in the front loader and not put in the compactor. Don't know if that is true, but it would have been an easy stop for the truck to make before it went to the landfill.
Good point,S., maybe he never was in a dumpster in Newark.
The red dots on the map are Jack's path if he continued east from Market and 11th to the landfill.
I just know Jack left a clue as to his perps...and I think that was in his silence....Did these perps threaten his family?? Was his first encounter just a warning??
I keep thinking of the Turner dude...and the Emily Klyce murder. Turner's Revenge??
Note the eligibility date near the end of the article.
What are you saying - he walked to the dump?
It was night, the weather was in 30’s - no way.
Cold, disoriented, maybe with hypothermia and just happens to find his way to the dump.
What are the red dots. and the orange 1 & 2?
Isn’t he still in prison?

read what I wrote in the post, the orange 1 & 2 are the landfill locations.
Not that he walked to the dump...but that he was a hell of a lot closer to the landfill than those dumpsters in Newark which were 10 miles west and south from where jack was seen last.
Two landfill locations?
Are the red dots just random or do they signify a specific location like a bus stop?
LOL, of course not! I'm just pointing out that he was headed in that general direction. It suggests to me that he didn't have to be hauled off to Newark just so he could be hauled all the way back to Wilmington. Do we really know how he got into the truck he fell out of at the landfill?
