Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

Thanks for the links - will check it out in a bit.
I had not thought of pepper spray to take him down in the first place - resulting in red eyes. That makes a lot of sense if it happened that way.
I am really losing confidence in that police department. How could they say heart attack after assault if they knew he had blunt force trauma or were they guessing?
The way he has been smeared, the next version will be he had a coronary while dumpster diving. And the media will run with it. :(

Link to referenced above. Can ‘t get the picture to post. As seen, it is an example of the bloodshot eyes. I wonder if this is similar to what people saw.
Does it increase with contacts....Did he wear contacts?
I hear what you're saying, but all families are different. I would die for my (grown) child; but we don't talk sometimes for two or three weeks. We live maybe 20 miles apart.
The Wheelers were married when they were both older and established in extremely busy careers. So while I hope the police are considering all possibilities, let's also keep an open mind. Not calling does not necessarily mean what it would mean to you.
Since he had classified info, they were both accustomed to his not being able to open up about many things. Maybe he was trying to protect her from fear or from doing something unexpected that might put him or both of them in more danger.
As noted in post 1086. Is it possible that Connelly's Philly office was his attempted destination when he was trying to get to Philadelphia?
WHy that particular lawyer? But it does make sense...

I think it just happens. I worked for retina surgeons in Syracuse when it first happened to me. It freaked me out the first time, but it was a non-event for my bosses. One doctor took a quick look, saw nothing & said it could be sinuses, irritation, blah blah. “you mean it is not even good for an early afternoon off?” :(
Anyway mine was no biggie. The ones we saw when patients came in were usually due to trauma from an external force, but with other indicators (swollen lids, excessive tearing, discahrge, etc) .
I’d like to know if the bloodshot eyes were confined to the eyes or if there were external symptoms as well.
Thanks for posting the picture. I don’t have my c&p cheat sheet on the iPad.

And also, Colm said he may have been looking for me.
Big attorneys prance between offices.
I'm inclined to think Colm and his cohorts are Klyce Family attorneys BECAUSE Colm said he had only met Jack once..in 2009.....singling Jack out.
Connelly is not a Pennsylvania lawyer - only Delaware (it is in his bio from the law firm).
What? Really - no C&P?
So while he may not be a Pennsylvania Lawyer at this time, he remains part of that Philly Office.
So the question is: Was John in the Philly Office or the Delaware Office on the 29th, 30th...
