Boycott all Google Products Type into Google "Jared Lee Loughner" and see why.
Yes, and the "suggested search" list is usually longer than five items long, particularly in cases such as this. Given the number of sites parroting the "Was DailyKOS involved...?" story, you'd expect "DailyKOS" to appear in the drop-down list. Google may not have created the suggested search with "Tea Party", but you can bet they're steering searches away from their buddies.
see Google Bomb article on Wikipedia
There may be left wing pot heads repeatedly searching "Jared Lee Loughner Tea Party."
I didn’t even know about them. Oh well. Thanks for letting me know. ::sheepishly trying to save face::
I did, and 9 of the 10 hits on the first page also mentioned Loughner. I’m not sure about the other hit; given the site name, I did not want to click on it to find out.
I’m also seeing him referred to in headlines as “Jared Lee Loughner.” That could inspire another Google search, as in “Why do articles about murderers always include their middle names?” (I actually did not get an answer with that search. Oh well.)
PING
“They dont have manpower or time to tweak their searches for a political agenda.”
I don’t know if they’re doing so or not, but that’s silly. It takes a minute to get into the database and say “please recommend that”. It’s not as if their code doesn’t have an “override” setting.
If I need a search engine, I go to ixquick.com
I like Google. I’m keeping Google.

I do Search Engine Optimization and online ads for websites, so I know a little something about how Google and other search engines do what they do.
To put a single recommendation in there, or block certain keywords is simple, but to contextually move searches politically left or politically right is unbelievably complex and not worth the effort.
Besides, Google is in it for the search market share and resultant ad revenue. They’re not going to get return traffic if their search results aren’t relevant. That people think Google jiggered their search to make this happen is utterly dumb.
Exactly.
These are simply the most searched-for matches
“To put a single recommendation in there, or block certain keywords is simple,”
Right,
“...but to contextually move searches politically left or politically right is unbelievably complex and not worth the effort.”
Not so. Let’s say they have a (keyword, rating) pairs storage they use to tweak relevance beyond their eigenvalues algo. Then it’s just a matter of seeding it with a few (”tea party”, -1) and so pairs. Bury the keywords just a 0.0001%, undetectable, cheap, still can further some agenda.
Again, I’m not saying that’s being done. I’m just saying it’s not really that hard to do.
“I haven’t used Google for a few years. Ever since I heard they were cooperating with the Chinese government to turn over names of citizens who were criticizing the Chi-com government.”
Me too, and I think Yahoo also cooperated with China.

In the tank with these criminals like GE, Chase, AARP ect. Most media broadcasts I have heard since the incident end with “we are still trying to find a motive”. Looks like Google has created one with the administrations blessing.SURPRISE!!! A white supremisist, racist with tyes......all media will look and all will follow and the sheeple will believe. When we were told they have the shooter we heard crickets for many hours before they geared up with a story other than a KOS kook
!!!! thank you
I switched from Google to Bing, a computer guy told me Bing has "spiders" that search the net and crawl over everything that is said....I also typed in joeprobono and found his FR postings also. I thought at first it was just my postings, but I think most of the freepers will find their postings also. Thousands of things will come up on Bing, but for me it was on the first page.
I was told there is no way to prevent or get your postings off of Bing.. Probably same thing with Google...
Wonder why the lamestream media is not talking about Caitie Parker.
From http://kmox.cbslocal.com/2011/01/08/arizona-shooter-identified-as-jared-lee-loughner/
Reports also indicate that Loughner met the Congresswoman in 2007, later referring to her as stupid and unintelligent according to high school friend Caitie Parker.
He was a pot head and into rock, like Hendrix, The Doors, Anti-Flag. I havent seen him in person since 2007 in a sign language class. As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal and oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy. He had a lot of friends until he got alcohol poisoning in 2006 and dropped out of school. Mainly a loner, very philosophical, she wrote.
Why don’t you give a synopsis of your grievance against Google?
«...told me Bing has “spiders” that search the net and crawl over everything that is said...»
Every search engine does exactly that. I don’t think there’s any other way.
“I was told there is no way to prevent or get your postings off of...”
Search engines must (theoretically) comply with a “no crawling” policy if a server tolds them so. That’s sort of a blurry line, many sites set up “traps” to ban a spider that goes where it shouldn’t. It’s up to the site. If Free Republic doesn’t keep the spider out, then the posting may get archived.
