The problems with concealed carry (barf alert)
Milwaukee J-S ^ | 29 dec 2010 | Nancy Ettenheim

Posted on 12/29/2010 6:37:49 AM PST by rellimpank

With Wisconsin's tea party in full, florid swing and moving to Madison, we can expect an attempt to legislate a strong concealed firearm carry permitting system to rear its little bullet head. Even Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn have said they'd be open to such a system.

Now before you National Rifle Association types get your undies in a bunch, let me say that I am not anti-gun possession; we own four long guns, which my husband, a Vietnam veteran, is highly skilled in using. Happily, we never fire them. They sit, unloaded, minding their own business.

My problem with carrying concealed weapons is that the wrong people invariably carry them. Who thinks he or she needs to go to the grocery store with a loaded firearm?

Chisholm's initiative would embrace a strict permitting process, relying heavily on a review of the applicant's criminal record. Nice idea in theory, but bogus in practice and reality.

Sounds like you are a RACIST, madam.

But it's OK for Lefties to be RACISTS, because their intentions are good.

Then, dear doofus writer, you have a set of very expensive rocks.

A matching set, perhaps, to those resting betwixt your ears.

I’m a Vietnam veteran. Being one does not innoculate against criticism or disagreement.

Her definition of the “wrong kind of people” carrying concealed probably means those who disagree with her gun control views.

Hey lady, just let the democratic legislating process play out even if you disagree with the outcome, OK?

It’s projection.

The woman knows that SHE should not be trusted to carry around lethal means of self defense,

so she thinks no one else should either.

The mother who raises a nation of wusses.

She seems like the “2nd is for hunting” illiterati.

If anything she is committing journalistic malpractice by misreporting law, and trying to establish her personal credentials.

You have to pity her husband.

Note her last name; Ettenheim.

If anyone should be up to speed on the results of disenfranchising and disarming anyone it should be someone with a Jewish name....

That’s the deal with liberals -

they don’t respect the process or the rules if the outcome of following those rules is something they don’t agree with.

This explains their “hypocrisy” when it comes to the Constitution.

Happily, we never fire them. They sit, unloaded, minding their own business.

This mindset is exactly the problem.
If you're not going to keep up your skills then please sell them to someone who will.

Nancy, if you’re not robbed (whether you’re home or not) in the next 30 days and your 4 long guns stolen, I’ll be real surprised.

As a self avowed bitter clinger the first thing I'm going to do is go to WalMart, buy a cart full of Chinese crap and pray some 100 year old greeter dares to check my receipt . . .

Clearly she doesn’t understand the problem. The “wrong” people who have the guns don’t ever intend to get permits. Making it hard for the “right” people to get permits is what makes it easier on the “wrong” people.

Col. Colt tried to level the playing field and now we get this progressive confusion because of Progressive Libtard Propaganda.

Wisconsin needs to examine the statistics. The crime stats currently indicate that CCW reduces crime rates. I’ve had a CCW permit for 30 years but use it only occasionally, which some claim is foolish.

In PA we had a big stink about a girl that wanted to use her open carry rights at children’s soccer matches. There was backlash from all sides including firearm advocates. Generally the public is more comfortable with concealed carry.

This is a good article on the subject. https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Concealed_carry_in_the_United_States
