As Gabriel Nelson of Greenwire reports, the EPA has taken one step closer to stripping the state of Texas of the right to determine how it wants to control air pollution.
The EPA has given TX final warning that if they do not implement new requirements for the regulation of greenhouse gases (which several states have challenged in court), the EPA will take over the authority to grant operating permits to industry in Texas itself.
Texas Governor Perry is fighting the takeover, of course, but EPA has rarely been faced down in court.
The action, which is nearly unprecedented in the history of the Clean Air Act suggests that rather than backing down on EPAs regulatory putsch, the Obama Administration plans to double down and run the country as a permitocracy.

STOP THE SOCIALISM !
I only have one question: Which is larger: the money Texas sends to D.C. very year, or the money it receives? If the former is larger, than Texas should simply ignore any EPA ruling on permits, along with any judge’s ruling upholding it. If the Feds make any threats, then simply halt all tax payments to Washington indefinitely.

maybe the time has come to face them down at the Red River with some M1A1s.
.. Ping!
Texas, declare CO2 a non pollutant. Take EPA’s wind out of their sail.
Sunds like the plot of the book “A State of Disobedience”.
Exactly. Texas does not need the government of the United States. The government of the United States needs Texas. I have always liked and respected the people of Texas when they say “Don’t mess with Texas”.
DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS!
Maybe we need to re-visit that “Republic of Texas” thing!
Texas should just secede from this corrupt Union.
Washington D.C. needs Texas more than Texas needs
Washington D.C.
I agree the Governors of the individual states are going to have to stand up and just say “No”. Otherwise nothing will change. The EPA needs to be defunded and closed down by Congress.
As a Texan, I agree wholeheartedly...
I will gladly come to Texas if it comes down to “real trouble”. It would be the best thing that happened to America, if they got their rear ends kicked on a regulatory dispute.
Wake up our guys?
Wake up people, there is no one in government that want and will stop this.
Think Perry will be a rock and really stand
up to them, or can he be bought off .. with
any possible thing that could seduce him?
Time for Texas to drop the Union & go it alone——or with whichever other states want to come with them???
Could they at least offer some help with the loads of immigrants crossing the border. IMO, the issue of our sieving borders is worse than just CO2 emissions
